HereForTheBeer: Buuut, cars are pretty darn good across the board these days, at least in this market. Reliability-wise, anyway. And if I search hard enough I can still find a stick shift.
Matruchus: I really never understood why automatics are so popular in the states. Here in Europe more or less everybody drives with manual transmission. Also, American roads tend to have variable speed limits. In one town where I lived you would have a 55 mile per hour speed limit then it would change to a 45 mph limit and then 35 BUT if you were in a school zone and school is in session then you had to slow down to 25 mph and under. Doing all that with a manual would be seriously annoying.
Another thing is when you go to visit family and you live in, say, Florida and they live in New York (the state). That's a good 12 to 16 hours by car sooo yeah....
