adamhm: ... and of course, no Mac or Linux version of BioShock Infinite despite Mac & Linux versions being available on that other store :/
avatar
DadJoke007: Just like with XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Why doesn't 2K provide the Linux-versions that's already available?
Feral Interactive ported & published the Mac & Linux ports of XCOM: EU but unfortunately they seem to be very pro-DRM so in that case the lack of Mac/Linux seems to be entirely down to them.

However Aspyr developed & published the Mac & Linux ports of BioShock Infinite and they already brought some of their games here before so I'm not sure why GOG didn't work out a deal to bring the Mac/Linux versions of BioShock Infinite here as well.

The free game is very nice, even though I already owned it :) Thank you GOG

Is it possible that a game that is already discounted will get a deeper discount in flash deal later in the sale ?

Oh YES! I've been waiting for Bioshock Inifinite since the first two Bioshocks appeared here. Bought!
Holy crap, I just realized the front page is no longer completely broken on my trusty ol' browser. I just hope it'll stay this way after the sale's over...

gogtrial34987: That almost certainly (based on the pattern from previous big sales) indicates it'll be one of the upcoming flash sales.
Shardlight , Technobabylon , Victor Vran .

spitfire1966: Thanks much GOG!

Anyone else having a new tab open (facebook) by itself when visiting the store page in the Galaxy client?
Yes. Please @GOG - make it stop. I'm not on fb, never have been and I find hard to not freak out because of it.
Thanks for the freebie! :)

That said, I should have bought Flashback while it was cheaper. T_T

I hate when these sort of thing happens (the next promo is less interesting than the last)

And EA brought some of their games here before, so why aren't they all here? (I'm just asking a rhetorical
question to make a point.)

MadalinStroe: Am I understanding this right? Does Shadows: Awakening completely supersede Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms?

Is there any reason why anyone should buy Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms(which as far as I understand is just part 1 of the story), now that Shadows: Awakening(which is the complete story, part 1+2)?
avatar
Leroux: From what I know, yes, Awakening supersedes S:HK. And frankly I have no idea, why S:HK is still sold separately and for a higher price with lesser discount than Awakening. That's bound to cause confusion, misunderstandings and disappointment. There might be some small differences between S:HK and Awakening Act 1, but I'd expect that they're negligable and that, if anything, Awakening's Act 1 is better, since it's the new and updated version of S:HK (I think they remade it in a new engine or something?).
Here's something I noticed:
Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms has a DLC for the soundtrack(MP3 + FLAC)
Shadows: Awakening has a DLC for the soundtrack(MP3 only)

:( NOT cool Games Farm / Kalypso Media Digital.
Mucho thanks for Infinite and the free gift!
Enjoy the sales

Nope, no cheating like that :)

GOG_Solostran: As it was mentioned earlier, Linux/Mac versions of these games are published by different companies, not by 2K Games.
You really should add the Linux/Mac information to the first pinned comment...could make things easier, when people read it immediately and not when they read the first complaints about these versions missing.

tfishell: Unfortunate. I thought you hinted weeks ago that it would return here (I presumed for the Summer Sale)?
My thoughts were the same, they've always been the part of Summer and Winter sales. Without Connect for the biggest sale of the year feels weird but they probably left it for Galaxy 2.0.

Those two games are only published by Aspyr -- they were both developed by Bloober Team, which might well have made a distribution deal with GOG before Aspyr became involved, which they were then bound to honor (for example).
Are you aware of any Aspyr-developed macOS or Linux ports of other games here? That is, titles where Aspyr was only the developer and publisher for one or both "other OS" ports, but the game is listed as being published by another company (probably a AAA outfit).
I would guess that the Bloober games being here is an anomaly, and that Aspyr is, generally, every bit as "pro-DRM" as Feral.

Wasn't that during the Winter Sale 2018?
