scum chat:

"which leaves cristigale as cop and spf as doc, if my reasoning isn't bad and wrong"

nice pick, Lonzi.
avatar
Carradice: Also, as you know, but I will say it here for the benefit of the crew, it has been a pleasure to play along with the scummates during the game-days, with no day chat. It always felt pretty organic, as if we had been training together for that :) One of the most fun sides of the game.

GameRager: Thanks....we gave it our all and tried as we felt best. Hurrah for us.....and one more song for the road. :)

@Cristi: I also hope you like the above link as well, as you seemed to like the others. :)
It has been a bit of an odyssey, truly. (The video above was begging for the video below) ;)

ZFR: "which leaves cristigale as cop and spf as doc, if my reasoning isn't bad and wrong"

nice pick, Lonzi.
Lonzi has played in over 30 games. That's a scary amount of experience.

Carradice: Then, a few rushed notes for our new scummate was all that could be left for him. He played along superbly. He made justice to the high hopes that had been put on him.

Thanks. I don't think I had much angle to actually play that good or bad, really. I was in a pretty good position as far as not being suspected due to Lonzi's perfect play during the first days. All I managed to do was put a list of reads that I hoped would keep me looking townie (I believe that this part would be successful) and follow up with my claim that I hoped would be fast voted into either me or SPF.

With all this 80's goodness I almost want to curl up on a couch with a bowl of cereal on saturday morning again.
This is funny.
From the observer thread:

" I won't currently ask what you mean here, but i have deep suspicions of scene being able to be one side or the other."

What makes it so much funnier is that it comes from the guy that joked over my entry post where I said that I had reads on people that must be town and some that must be scum :)
Amazing

I do have to concede though, my play was probably trash, but cristi did save the day and was probably the best play in this game. Laser was right. We cracked open the setup, and didn't even need to pick between SPF and Joppo. And truth be told, I would have gone for SPF as the fake doctor for his comment about the time spent in the daychat, although Joppo claiming lonzi did no actions was like...wha?

Still, congratulations everyone. That was an un-boring game.

Pookina: That was an un-boring game.
This is all I ever wanted to hear.
avatar
JoeSapphire: This is all I ever wanted to hear.
Hey, I said it waaaaay before Pooks said it. :D

(Although not in those exact words)
avatar
LASER97: The most abysmal players are those unable to survive.
Cristi investigating me and Scene, because of my fake claim, is what helped us win today.
avatar
joppo: On the other hand, Cristi had to waste her read on a town player when she could have used it on one of the scum.I think Town's chances would go much higher if she had read Carradice or GR.

You can say your plays "won the game" for Town, but what won the game for Town was the fact that Joe didn't realized that the game was unbalanced until it was too late. Town won not because of your plays, but despite your plays.
This. The fake vig shot did not clear any of them, but actually made the cop spend her two shots on them. Although they did make clear for the mob, with this and some other details, that neither of them had a power role. It could have been extra fun if Scenes, by blind luck, had turned out to be the cop.
I decided to share a couple of recordings I did during the course of the game, and considered sharing but didn't at the time.

The Solution to ZFR's riddle posed in the observer chat.

A voiceover of the opening paragraph.

I saw a three-man performance of two of Damon Runyon's short stories, and they basically just spoke the words in voices like this and it was one of the most entertaining, hilarious and beautiful shows I've seen. Now when I'm reading his work I can't help but speak it out loud.
Apologies to any New Yorkers... or people with taste...

OH yeah - now's probably a good time to mention, for those who aren't familiar with the author, the flavour was me attempting to mimic the style of Damon Runyon, Kansas-born author and newswriter whose most famous for his short stories, the most famous collection of which is Guys and Dolls - the inspiration for the famous musical.
If you've never heard of him, but enjoyed my crude mimickery, I recommend you read some of his work, it's truly masterful.
If you never heard of him but didn't enjoy my attempts - I urge you to read some of his work to see how it should have been done ;p

Thanks everyone for taking part. The flavour was only a part of the game, but it's been in my head for a good while, and I'm glad I attempted it, and it's been really great getting your feedback as we went on.

Analysis of the mechanics... I'll leave until tomorrow. (How's it half three in the morning right noe what the heck??)
@GR

It's karma: first you helped our enemy to win and then you helped yours ;)

I thought that my noise was fruitful after all but upon reading scum chat I realized that it was all because of you.
I'm not happy with that win, the Town gave you so much since the beginning. Laser might think that he is so special and smart but in reality he ruined this game from D1, if not for GR Laser's butt would have been *meta busted* by now.

My D2 scum read were: Carradice, SPF and GR/Lonzi. I'm glad that Mafia lynched me because I've contributed to Mafia's cause too much already.

*shrug*

I tried my best.....and that's all one can do, really.....I was doing fine until I decided to not go with Lonzi's pick.

Btw know why I picked you? Because I felt your NK would cast suspicion on others and cause the other town players to point fingers at some of their own....I WAS trying....I just made that one huge mistake(not going with cristi as NK), else we might've won this one.
Rager, I don't think your mistake was disagreeing about who was the correct kill, I think your mistake was holding the nightkill hostage and putting yourself above the team. I hope your takeaway from this game isn't that you should just defer to more experienced players. I'm not even that experienced. It's okay to be wrong about stuff, no one's perfect, it's okay to argue your opinion and disagree with your team, but I don't think it's okay to force your team to choose to either do as you say or run you over.

Anyway, thanks everyone for having me. I'm sorry I don't think I'll be back, this turned out to be something of a sour experience for me, but I wish you all the best and sincerely hope your community continues to thrive. 10/10 flavor, Joe, some of the best I've ever read, also made the game more fun to get into and play. Don't be too stressed about the setup, it was still fun and playable and not the harshest setup I've wolfed in either - town also didn't have it easy with only 3 MLs and no way to gain KP. The general rule I use for setups is not to give town more clears than there are wolves, if that's helpful. But everyone does things differently.

Exactly.
