Cult game - I CALLED IT!

Another word about cryptoclaiming (as I understand it) since I was asked.
Posting something like 'the third post of my PM is Rosebud' would be quoting, which is not OK.
Posting: 'the word after my role name starts with an m, what is the last letter of that word in your post' would be a straight out call for cryptoclaiming (devising a code that the other faction(s) can't break). As such it would lead to immediate modkill.

It is OK though to rephrase the flavour from your PMs. And yes, you can try to use the flavour to your advantage, like the opposing side(s) will use the flavour to try to confuse you. I actually encourage you, to roleplay a bit. But DON'T quote anything from the PM directly or paraphrase it too closely. In doubt, ask first.

Well what I know from the game, there are the Freedom Fighters, the Duty (dooty...har!), the stalkers, bandits, and also what I'm speculating to be the Monolith worshipers (sort of a bunch of fanatics).

The OP seems quite clear the scum are the last group. Does that seem right??

As a veteran farter I might be offended but for two reasons:
1) This is a dead-on-balls accurate depiction of me.
2) I have no self-respect.

Not role hinting at all, was playing off of Twilightbard saying he had grabbed a stick and was going to poke someone, I thought the poking cartoon was funny :)

Hey guys, just popping in to say I'm around and reading but very busy this weekend so probably won't be participating much till tomorrow night.

Nothing major seems to have happened yet, other than talk of roles (why is it we all agree this is a bad thing, but start every game with role speculation?), so I doubt I will miss much.

Actual roles discussion is bad, but I'm under the understanding we are more oriented towards game mechanics discussion right now, not who has what role. Or am I missing something?

Pretty much mechanics, and whether powers might come and go. I figure the role speculation can maybe start tomorrow, after emission actions (heh, emissions) start happening.

No, I don't think so.
But even discussion of mechanics should be dealt with carefully. We managed to spend most of two days, as I remember, last game discussing why we did or didn't get flips and got it 100% wrong. Speculating on the mechanics of roles at this point is either likely to draw out clues to who has a role (bad for town), or give scum ideas or distract from other matters.
At the moment all we have is the information in the opening post, the only ones who know more are those with roles and we don't really want them revealing that right now. As Bookwyrm says we are better placed to speculate tomorrow (but even then it may not be wise) and I don't see the benefit of discussing how powers or roles work at this point.

It's simply too early to make even a remotely educated guess, and wild speculation is extremely dangerous. As to what I suggest? We scumhunt, we play the game.

Although, I have to admit, it strikes me as odd that a townie would be more interested in the mechanics...that's something the Mafia would find FAR more useful so they can figure out how to game the system.
