For me the new layout with those big boxes on the right is not really practical, because it doesn't really tell what kind of games I would like to browse and it takes the space of detailed informations and news which used to be there before.

What I wish for is the layout which is on Steam - on the left list of games and when I hover over it, it would give me more detailed informations on the right. And those boxes with collections could be beneath it as an alternative. Those youtube videos are informative, but the problem is that if it is a trailer, it takes ages before giving you the info you need and if you have slow internet it takes ages to even start.

Also I wish there would be more of tags - right now RPG and action games are mixed, so it is hard to say what kind of game falls to which category, so you cannot really find the game you want anyway.

The biggest difference in games for me is gameplay, not content, so I wish there would be sorting of that on GOG - like:
platfmormers, adventures, building/survival games, strategies, 3d view, isometric, First person view.

It really makes me stop browsing the list of games, if I see RPG title and it turns out to be isometric/strategy or I see action game and it is a platformer - I wish I could see that before I have to click on it, because I don't really care about certain types of games.

And when I click on the game title, I wish there would be section of all all version of it (like risen 1, 2 3) under DLCs and collection of series - like starwars games bundle on Steam

Most of the time I cannot find the type of game I would like to play.
I can't understand why do you keep changing the games library layout. It used to be quite intuitive in the shelf format and now it is a complete mess. First of all there is no search field on the library page (just the search for all games on GOG, not only owned), the list format forces user to scroll all the way down and wait for the page to load another 50 or so games, and the sorting options are just achievements/time played or alphabetical. Where is the purchase history order? Why can't I sort it by genre? Where the 'next to play' tag went?
In current form the library page is literally unusable if someone has more than 100-200 titles in the library. Please fix it.
I don't use GOG galaxy and I'm really hesitant to start when I see problems like that on the webpage. You are doing great work on the gaming market, but you need to stop over-engineering things that already work good.

Just a totally mad thought here, why not do it yourself? I keep all my downloads offline, and catalog them myself, currently using collectorz software, but plan to move onto my own database shortly. Can sort, tag to my hearts content all in the safe knowledge that it’s not up to a third party, much like the whole download your games and not be reliant on a third party for that either which is the sole reason to shop here.

Yes there is, near the top on the left, in the nav bar with genre, system, etc. The store search is all the way at the upper-right.

Yes, that's annoying, though it's 100 rather than 50. It's the same for the shelf format, by the way. It's not clear if you think the list format is a replacement for the shelf, but it's not; you can switch between the two as you like.

Not sure what you're looking at; the library sort options are title, purchase date, tags, oldest, and newest. Nothing about achievements or time played.
Why can't I sort it by genre?
You can filter by genre, plus others like system, language, etc.
Where the 'next to play' tag went?
Nowhere, it's right there along with the others, unless you removed it. In which case go into your settings and add it back.

I have over 200 and it's fairly usable, though as mentioned above having to page through is sometimes annoying.

I've barely used Galaxy, but it mostly just displays web pages anyway. I mean, your library in Galaxy is just displaying the exact same thing you get in a web browser. Like Steam, which is mostly just HTML too. Which I guess is good for cross-platform, but it's not really the best experience.
