xerxes866: I can't support Gog anymore. Even old games I have bought long ago are not DMR free. (they used to be) What you get is some other company(that wasn't even a company for at least a decade after the game came out) is now going to demand an account, log in name, and password. You have to agree to let them install spy ware in order to install the game. Gog is nothing more than a sleazy front for spy ware now.
Which game are you talking about? Would like to check for myself.

Wait, can somebody explain to me how Gog adds DRM now? I'm confused. I can still run their games through regular DOSBox exe files...

I 100% agree i think Gog are drugged or something, their staff... they keep adding shit games over good content indie titles that get turned off. I know at least 3 indie games that should be on GoG but got turned down, their developers i follow on Discord. Realms of Antiquity, Soulash and Lurking II A madness. Those titles used to make sense in good old gog now everything's going to hell.

Are you dumb or ignorant? Because lots of multiplayer games are not even DRM free where you can host LAN or direct connect on your own, they bypassed the drm this way by sneaking with their own server. If server is down your screwed. An example is Thea 2 the shattering, it's server-based. Outward, Stellaris you can't multiplayer how you wish either. That's all anti-drm games here on gog and i know theres more...

Edit: My crazy conspiracy/theory about the server-based multiplayer thing is to feed the masses and idiots who would never bother to port forward and what not, stupid kids you know...It's become common practice to avoid tc/ip and lan. Some people will defend a point and claim that's because of ipv6 but i'm not a fool. Ipv6 doesn't even need to be used yet

Ah, I see, thanks. I only care about old games and single player so this issue doesn't concern me really. If I wanna play new games and/or multiplayer, I will go on Steam.
However, it would be nice if new games' developers went out of their way to create completely revamped, DRM free versions of their games solely for the benefit of GOG. I'm sure that can happen.

Even a biggest heresy, them heretics, but not related to gog: Dungeon siege developers removed multiplayer from the game menu, my guess is that too many people would complain it doesn't work and they don't want to bother with customer support. Because that game worked flawlessly on lan with port forward and inbound rules, but kids these days are just stupid and lazy.

I think that has more to do with a lack of LAN support in modern games at large. Maybe because so many modern multiplayer games have direct IP support, at least that I can tell. As you say, kids are lazy, but not only that, publishers want to trap people in their games forever with drip-fed content and the like. Honestly, it may be better not to have that crap here.
