Just "finished" downloading the backup copy. But I think its stuck.

It says 100% 24gb/24gb and wont move on to download the next patch file in my download list.
Restarted galaxy and its still stuck at 100%.

It looks like I have all the files but they all have a ".download" extension.
I just deleted the .download off the file names and am able to run the install file.

tinyE: I think the originality of this post merits it not being low rated.
There is nothing original about being a dick to someone for no reason. Posts like that are the reason quite a few regulars have withdrawn or significantly reduced their activity on the forum, as these kind of responses are more commonly observed on Steam.

un2114: I just purchased witcher 3 this weekend and am trying to use galaxy to download it.
The download just hangs at about 86%.
so I close galaxy and restart it but then the download begins again at like 72%, it goes to 86% again and wont get any higher. Just sits there for hours at 86% until I restart galaxy and the same thing happens......

I tried downloading witcher 2 through galaxy a few months back and had a similar situation. Had to resort to using the download links.
I'm going to uninstall galaxy and never touch it again. I had zero issues with the old gog downloader.....
So many hours wasted trying to download 35gigs of witcher3.
I'll have to to try to the download links on the account page when I have the time.
I should have bought this game through steam.

mrkgnao: Silly question: Why are you trying to download it via Galaxy if you yourself admit that the GOG downloader works better for you? Why don't you just continue to use the GOG downloader or your browser?
Maybe he hadn't the time to use his foretelling ability.

I think your underwear is waaaaaay too tight. :P
Ok so the Game is actually running now after 2 days of trying to download it!

I downloaded the installation files using the backup copy option in galaxy.
The download was stuck at 100% then had to delete the .download extensions on the files.
After that I was able to install the game as normal.

By the way, is there a support forum for Galaxy issues?
Maybe I'm just stupid but I dont see one.

I cant be the only one with this issue?

Here. Make sure to read the instructions in the post, so that you can send a ticket to the Galaxy team.

It used to be, but now I wear boxers. ;)

My response was not to you specifically as I am well aware you were joking but I just used your comment as a springboard to make a point about something that is becoming a common trend on threads where folks are asking for a little assistance here on the forums.

Not a forum though but a bugtracker. You could report your bug there in the hope that they don't know already about it and have time to fix it. It might be helpful for others.

Trilarion: The achievements, the play time measurement, the auto update,... . The GOG downloader might get discontinued. GOG might add other cool features into Galaxy soon. ...

You basically advocate newer to user a newer technology. At first always the old techniques seem to work better.

Maybe he just wasn't sure that the GOG downloader works better.
No. I am merely advocating to wait until the new technology is ready before giving up on it. For example, opening a ticket and/or posting here about the galaxy issues, but meanwhile continue using the old technology which apparently still works for him.

That said, my post was poorly written and I regret it.

That's also what I do but many of our fellows cannot wait and try new things earlier and GOG actually gets valuable experience from them. If we all wait until a technology is ready before trying it out, it may never become ready due to a lack of interest.

Anyway the problem is solved, so the rant is over. :)

i specifically suggested more moderators, stricter rules, and some form of meta-moderation. a few times , i believe. nobody cared.

so i continue to i find retarded spammy whiny topics like this , from a user who seems to refuse to read instructions, and that "I WANA GO HOME TO STEAM!" bullshit again. so i reacted accordingly... by reminding the steamfan of the virtues of the delicious-ness of dickwolf genitalia, and that opinions are cheap. it's as "gentle" as i can go. it's not like i can castrate him through the interwebz anyhoo.

How did I refuse to read instructions?
I dont want to "go home to steam" as you want to put words in my mouth. I just want my freaking downloads to work.
I have a problem with the most basic purpose of galaxy which is to download and install games.
I could give a damn where I buy the game from as long as it works.

Get over yourself. Do us all a favor and dont post your condescending elitist dickwolf crap if you have no intention of adding anything to the thread. Worthless troll.

well the problem is the follow :

Galaxy is a beta software , so expect bugs

GOG dowloader is no more supported, but seems to work (well aside some issues for a few games) , but it's way more stable.

So :

1 - IF you encounter a really annoying bug with Galaxy use the GOG Downloader
2 - IF you still have an issue, like one i mentionned in my second sentence use the direct download (browser or downthem all addon for example).

Lastly if your download is almost finish under Galaxy and can't be completed , i'm sorry for the wasting time if your donwload speed is not great :(
