TekZero: Oops, looks like I posted in the wrong thread.

I guess you guys are still doing this. I'm thinking of playing this game, since I've had it for a while now. Where/how do I start?

And are there Beastmen in this game? They are my favorite army outside of the Dwarves.
Hi! Yes, we're still doing this! Season 6 will start soon-ish.
Beastmen are part of the Chaos team, a team that needs some time to be build-up but can be very powerful as it has access to mutations when levelling up.

Where to start?
Blood Bowl is not n easy game, so be prepared to suck in your first matches.
It makes sense to read the rules (Blood Bowl Competition rules) and to play some training matches against nice people or the PC before you start playing in a league.
We have a GOG Open League for training matches for example (see first page of this thread).
Hmmm, I think I could get back into game this season.
Thanks for heads-up, Piranjade.
I will think about team later.
Awesome.. Thanks.

I'll check it out a bit tonight and see how much I like it. I'm not afraid of losing a bunch as long as I'm learning (I just started playing Street Fighter 4 for instance).

Maybe get a few casual games against people here before I join any league.

Best way to start is (imho) the following:
1. Play a few matches against the AI so that you get a feeling for the game and its UI. There's also a tutorial, which isn't very good, but better than nothing.
2. Keep the Competition Rules at hand. It's a PDF that's downloaded together with the game. You don't have to read through all of it right away, but it really really helps.
3. As soon as you've understood the interface and the basic rules, get online and start playing against other people. Watch what they are doing, ask questions, try to apply the observed techniques yourself. There are some techniques (like "caging") which are crucial to the game, but which you won't ever learn by just playing against the AI.
We have an "Open League" to play other GOGlodytes (see first post of the thread), or you can of course play random matches on the game's server.

There are, in the Chaos team. Chaos can become a very strong team, but takes a long time to get going, the players start almost without skills. Dwarves are generally considered a better choice for new players since they can be competitive right out of the box, and are relatively straightforward to play once one has understood the "caging" technique I mentioned earlier. But it's your choice, the wealth of teams to choose from is one of Blood Bowl's great assets. Just keep in mind that the teams aren't actually balanced.

Welcome back!
It's good to see so many people returning! :-D
If the list keeps filling up like this we might have to go for 24 coaches this season, I think.

I personally liked watching youtube to learn some of the things of the game. A good tutorial is the one from Totalbiscuit

We just ended the Match.
Rodzaju decided to concede the Match at Round 11 on a score of 1:1 with me in a good Position to score..

Match was a little Dicey for Rod, especially with a pretty Lazy Minotaur .. So BB ruled it a 3:1 Victory fpr the green Elves ..

I´m exited for the Finals ...

Replay is uploaded to Google Drive (I had no Idea how to name it in the Playoffs .. so .. i choose a name and hope its ok ;)

Rodzaju: -snip-
I feel sorry that things went this way :(
I want to participate in the next season. I'm not sure which team yet.

JudasIscariot: I do have to admit that there have been some frustrating games where I was tempted to just ALT+F4 due to being Nuffled :D
Cant say youve played BB until youve had near(?) ragequit experience after being seriously nuffled. ;)
