Got a code to use on GOG.com? Enter it below and you will see what it does and what does it give you. Clicking continue will immediately render the code used. Before giving the code to someone else, please click cancel first - otherwise the code will get temporarily locked.

tx3000: This message that pops up when you try to connect to online with Galaxy is outright idiotic.

FIRST OFF
This message very specifically states that this is where codes from prizes, promotions, discounts, special giveaways, season passes, etc. get entered in. And get bonus stuff from galaxy that others cannot get from using those codes. And you are allowed to give your code out to someone else that wants it provided continue has not been clicked yet.

SECONDLY:
There is no OPT OUT option for people who don't have codes. Clicking cancel is supposed to closed out the entire screen promotional code message and still allow you to click continue so the person can connect galaxy online. Just going online Someone not having a code is the exact same thing as someone having a code and someone who has a code and chooses not to use it or gives it to someone else are the exact same thing. So neither one can get online? So I have a code and choose to give it to someone and they use it, now guess what the person I gave the code to CAN get online, but I cannot.

OVERVIEW

GOG GALAXY MESSAGE: Got a code to use on GOG.com?
PERSON 1: Umm No I don't..and there is no option to get one sent
PERSON 2: Yes I do but I don't want to use it RIGHT NOW
PERSON 3: I did but I gave it to someone else to use and they used it
PERSON 4: Used the code person 3 gave them

OUTCOME:
PERSON 4 is now the only one who can get online.
PERSON 1, 2, and 3, are screwed
PERSON 1 is just outright screwed a. for not having a code, b. has no way to get a code sent to them.
PERSON 2 is forced to either use the code or not go online.
PERSON 3 doesn't make sense because why would anyone prevent themselves from being able to connect?

This is the dumbest set up I've ever seen.
Two questions:
1. On which specific game do you experience this when clicking CONNECT button?
2. Do you own said game on GOG.com on the account you're logged to in Galaxy?

The scenario you've outlines should appear only when trying to connect a locally installed game to GOG Galaxy (to take advantage of features like auto updates / achievements / goodie downloads) but the game is not on the account logged into Galaxy - in such case gog.com/redeem page is displayed.

JMich: I thought this was the message displayed, was it changed? Granted, that is from August of 2015, but I haven't had a chance to test it since :/
Nope - currently if you don't own the game, Galaxy goes into offline mode for that title. TW3 might be an exception for the rule as it had custom text on its game view. Then, when you click Connect, you get to redeem page, as OP described.

tx3000: I'm done with the stupidity of people on this thread. I don't need damn promotional code to go online with a game that was gifted to me.
The real question is whether it was redeemed and on which account. Because if you're logged into Galaxy and playing from the account you're typing from here... well, let me to stop there because I won't be publicly discussing your account details but let me assure you that the Galaxy is working as intended.

Now, if you own a game on a different account, please login to that account in Galaxy or contact our support and they will be happy to help you. The message asking for entering product code you're experiencing is only supposed to happen if you try to connect to Galaxy an installed game which you do not have on your account.
