IAmSinistar: Hmm, has anyone tried Gods: Lands of Infinity Special Edition. I see it features "Supermodel Kyla Cole as a lead heroine", which is pretty much the first thing I look for in any quality RPG. And the description makes it seem very much a boilerplate game. But I'm wondering if it's still enough fun for the price, which is pretty damn low at the moment.

Might pick up Meridian: Age of Invention, it looks like a fun little casual game, and perhaps GIGANTIC ARMY, which seems like a Metal Slug game (and I'm aware that it was just recently bundled).
Let this video guide you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gu8uHQs2QQ
And considering that you can get Dragon Age Origins for $1 more on sale clearly is a statement.
and most of all, the absolute killing factor: It ends with a "to be continued..."

About Gigantic Army: the game is SHORT, like 30 Minutes short, that is after you spent hours learning
the 100% unforgiving enemy attack patterns of the six levels. Brutal Oldschool Coin-Arcade as can be.

I know its a bit old now but the borderlands goty and the borderlands 2 are a lot of game for the money, (steam) Shame my spare cash is spoken for, i know someone that would like it. but such is life. Seriously though, if you havent played Borderlands but liked Diablo type games... Borderlands is basically diablo with guns... lots of guns.

BoxOfSnoo: For this GalCiv II, download through Steam, run it once and register it using the embedded key. That adds it to your Stardock account, which is basically a page of downloadable games. There is a "product key" under each game title but I don't know if that's needed or not.

I got GalCiv 1 a long long time ago so I don't really remember if this worked the same way or not - at least I remember it was through the Impulse client and not Steam.

In any case, after registering, you don't need the Steam client anymore, if you don't want it.

In this link they say it's possible to allow the owner untie the ownership and give it to a second party, a resell function? That may be the best form of DRM protection I ever heard of in digital distribution. Or Did that GameStop purchase kill the feature?
On the other hand I didn't really understand what is the incentive for digital distributes to support content bought from other distributes?

Dragon Age: Origins is showing as full price for me on GG. And it's not DRM-free. Not that it matters too much, as I have it on the Xbox. :)

Shame about the ending of Gods, but since I've bought it I'll likely give it a play anyway. Perhaps it wraps up the story enough to suit me, since I doubt it has such a compelling plot that I'll be on tenterhooks for the unlikely sequel.

That's good, I was hoping it would be a one-day game. Less thrilled to hear about how hard it is, but still might enjoy it for a bit.

That was a hypotheticla statement: WHEN on sale you get much more value with DA (and I guess even when not on sale). ;D

Ah yes, that is likely true. :) For that matter most of the RPGs on GOG would probably also qualify as money better spent. But I have a soft spot for obscure, low budget games at times. :D

I've completed the game (it took me 26 hours) and I wouldn't let the ending put you off playing it. Some of the voice overs are flat, the world can feel a little empty in places, and alchemy is over complicated for what it adds (it's easier to simply buy potions, but I find that's true of alchemy in almost every game it's included in). However, I thought the game had a charming atmosphere, a decent story, and the turn-based battles provided some interesting challenges in places. Also the game worked flawlessly in Windows XP for me - I never encountered a single bug.

Overall I found the game to be better than I expected and I certainly enjoyed playing it enough to finish it.

Glad to hear it! That's why I often take a gamble with these lesser-known titles, because sometimes you'll encounter something new or different that doesn't make it into the more mainstream titles. It's good to know that the experience here is worth the time, thanks!

Yes, I am basically with you. So if someone enjoyed it, there is hope. I do have a soft spot for the 'underdogs'
but did not find any review or gameplay video to convince me enough to purchase it.

In that case you might want to put Neverend on your notelist, for the next sale. Similar issue. :)

and also +1 to groundhog42 for the opinion.

Well, this is another slovak game (different devs), but... I wouldn't recommend it. :p

Got that on disc. Interesting adventure/RPG mix. Not great, but not terrible either.
