triock: The Free Bundle #3 - 5 games with free download + Vampires! for 4.99$
avatar
Psyringe: A free bundle for 5$? ;)

*reads the fineprint*
Poorly reported. The bundle is free, but they're giving a heads up on Vampires! since the dev of the game was screwed by a certain publisher and they're drawing attention to it to hopefully drive traffic to his website and help him out (I realize you probably already know this, but I thought I'd post it in case others are raising an eyebrow at this).

HeDanny: Games I would consider if the prices are good:
Which ever N4S is the Cryterion one (I think Hot persuit?) but Pretty sure I already have it on xbox360 anyway, soo...

nijuu: http://www.criteriongames.com/NFS/ ----> is that the NFS game to get?.

Wow guess Origin took all the lackofsales for aussies feedback onboard?.
Damn sorry mate I didn't check back in until now. If the sale is still going then yes, that is the Criterion Need 4 Speed. I would buy it because it is Criterion, not because it is need 4 Speed. Criterion are totally boss. Their BURNOUT games are really the only racing games I can get behind as they really do focus on having a damn good time above all else. I already have BURNOUT PARADISE on Origin. In fact that was the game that I installed Origin (Back when it was just called "EA Download Manager") to play.

I did check, and I already have both Hot Persuit and Burnout Paradise on xbox360. Buried somewhere on the shame pile, but there. For what it is worth, EA turned off the Burnout Paradise Online Store YEARS ago. It was always horribly managed, and did not even get all the items that the consove versions of the same game got. Last I checked, all content was still available on the console versions. the PC version was only the main game. While obviously disappointing, I still play Burnout Paradise every now and then when to fill time. Despite not having all the "stuff" of the superior console versions, it is still an absolute blast to play, just like all the burnout games before it. That is the reason I was considering Hot Pursuit. It does feel more "competitive" though. Burnout Paradise is just a car sandbox.

Dude. Drama. I checked it out and it happened to some other dudes as well? Harsh. Might Google that story later, If its nasty I'll have to consider throwing some money at the Indies affected. You know, if the games look ok.

Big Fish Valentine's day sale (Use coupon CUPID as many items as you like, any game $3.50us) is only going for another 5 or so hours, if anyone is interested.

> If you're buying Gala for 7.62mm, don't bother - It's download only, they're using a hosting site that is rigged to ignore downloaders, even J Downloader, the game is over 2 gigs in size and according to Firefox the first gig is going to take 12 hours to download.

I had no trouble downloading it. Including the 700m Blue Sun mod I've gotten all but the last 1/2 gig in less than 4 hours. And that should finish in the next 30 minutes or so. Just using the plain old browser.

KneeTheCap: So that Brutal Legend pre-order is on sale...

...if I buy one and put it in my inventory, will it stay as the pre-order version after the game has been released?
Why would it change?

Funny you should mention that. GamersGate just regionally restricted that and a large chunk of their SEGA library in Japan.

There has been a bit of a mess with Sega titles bought from Japan lately. GamersGate showed them as available to Japanese customers (since they had no information that they wouldn't be), but apparently Steam has raised another regional barrier, and customers cannot redeem their keys. I don't know if that was Steam's decision or Sega's, but in any case it wouldn't make sense for GamersGate to sell the Japanese customers codes that they can't redeem.

On the bundle page they linked to an article and open letter from the devs, up on Adventure Gamers.

Just figures. Most of my amazon.co.uk wishlist is boxed editions of indie adventure games, which Lace Mamba was putting out like crazy. Just bloody figures.

Not being able to redeem keys is bullshit. I've not had a single SEGA game purchased on GamersGate that has been IP blocked from activation on Steam in Japan. Not. A. Single. One. For that matter, I've not come across a single person who has had such an issue. And trust me, if it was a widespread issue and not just a PEBKAC one, the Japanese net would be covering it extensively.

Well ... the thing is, as soon as Aliens: Colonial Marines was released (published by Sega), GG support received a rush of tickets from Japanese and Korean customers, who - when trying to redeem their codes - were told by Steam that the product wasn't available in their country. I doubt that this can be explained by "PEBKAC". In any case, GG inquired about this with either Steam or Sega (possibly both), and GG has no reason to remove those games from their Japanese catalogue unless Sega requested them to be removed or the keys are indeed unusable for Japanese customers.

I don't have complete knowledge of GG's internals of course, but if you think that the keys have been removed by mistake, then please post your reasons for thinking so, and I can inquire further.

That has obviously happened AFTER I posted that. When I posted it, I *could* buy it with out problems, if I wanted it.
