grviper: Between Dwarfs, D.W.A.R.F.S. and Delve Deeper I feel completely lost among short bearded men. It's like that sauna scene in FF VII. The horror...
Dwarfs is a great strategy game, I love it! D.W.A.R.F.S. is an andventure hence probably I will never play it. And Delve Deeper is a strategy-rpg mix I have yet to try. The latter has some problems with the controls on PC according to the reviews.
No more deals please
:p

I spent my money on choo choo trains .
On the note of Delve Deeper, I noticed that Treasures and Tunnels is on GamerGate, and that it works just fine with the "Buy Games not Socks" 5 for $5 bundle copy. The 5 for $5 bundle already came with a Steam key, and three tickets could easily have already earned you the DLC during the Steam Summer Sale, but it might be worth $1 since it's DRM free.

I purchased Frozen Synapse Soundtrack Edition from Gamersgate. It's certainly an original game, using a simultaneous turn system, the likes of which I haven't seen in a very long time, but I can't say I'm at all fond of it. At least not yet, anyway. I'm hoping it'll grow on me. To clarify, the GamersGate version can't be activated on Steam (not that I give a damn). A key is provided that is used solely to create an account to play online. It's not needed for future installation.

In other words, as far as single player goes, the game is totally DRM free, and as far as multiplayer goes, it's simply a login with an account that you paid for. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any form of hotseat or LAN play, which means everyone must buy the game to play together, but all in all it's a very fair way of handling things.

Somebody here said that you could download FLAC and other formats for the soundtrack for the Steam version, but I didn't see any word of that in the sticky on the Steam forum page. Unfortunately, GamersGate provides only the MP3s. I'm not that keen on the music enough to care either way, but I'd have preferred FLAC. Unless it's been resolved today, recipients of gift copies of the soundtrack edition from Steam haven't gotten soundtracks, only the people who bought the bundle.

The GamersGate version includes both the full soundtrack edition (the MP3 download is listed on the download page for the soundtrack edition as an extra) and mac edition to gift. I don't know whether the Steam version lets you launch the game outside of Steam, but that's obviously a non-issue with GamersGate.

Overall, I'd say go with the GamersGate version unless you really like achievements or something. Of course, I'm biased as all hell to the point where I'd say the best perk of the GamersGate version is that Steam doesn't get any money from it. ;)

Was me (at least one of them) and I bought the Soundtrack on Steam and it´s 1GB download with MP3, WAV and FLAC-Versions
It´s not the on the store page but some Mod7-Dev /Steam Support left some comments about it in the FroSyn Steam-Forum

hopethis helps :)

Breaking the Rules is now discounted even further to $2, and Kaptain Brawe is now 50% off. I tried the demo for BTR but I didn't like it, but I saw the latest video of it with the most recent patch and it looks much better than what I experienced in the demo. I have Kaptain Brawe already but I haven't played it. Reviews say it's a good game, though it doesn't have voice acting.
> Anyone know the DRM for King's Bounty on Get Games? Cause on it's page there I don't see anything mentioned but I know on Gamersgate it comes packed with SecuROM.

Don't know about GetGames but I got the Platinum pack (king's bounty, armored princess and so on) from Amazon last Christmas and King's Bounty had no DRM while the later games in the pack had some mild DRM. I think 1c takes off the DRM after a few years.

1c was pretty nice when I was able to get through to them on email. I had installed and uninstalled the games to make sure they worked and their was an issue with the number of installs and uninstalls. They reset the counter for me and it's all cool now.

(you get 3 installs and 9 uninstalls - each uninstall resets the install counter).

gyokzoli: Steam's daily deal is Greed Corp.

Get it, it's a great TBS with very simple rules! I think it's very good for beginners in the TBS genre,
How about more seasoned TBS gamers? Does it have enough depth and variation to be of much interest?

Honestly, I don't know. This is a very simple game, where you have only 2 type of units (well, technically 1) and 3 type of buildings. The rules are just a few and simple. But the setting and the backstory make it interesting.
In my opinion for 3.33 bucks, it worths a try.

This review may give you a good overview about the game.

That review, and your own comment, pretty much answer my questions splendidly. I imagine the setting and backstory are interesting enough, but I'm a bit discerning when it comes to strategy games, and this doesn't sound like something I'd have much fun with at all. I already have plenty of other strategy games I've yet to invest as much time into as I'd like, but it does sound like it could be good for easing others into the genre.

In my case, those $3 would probably be best put towards one of a few choice games right here on GOG, so I'll have to decline giving in to curiosity. Opportunity cost and all that nonsense, you know. ;)

I bought platinum edition from getgamesgo, and it had starforce. Is highly possibe that all king's bounty games also have it in the same website.

King's Bounty Platinum is still 94% (1.87 euro here) off but gamesgate just fix the price for any single game in the collection so I think they will fix the Platinum edition too and put it at 75% off as the banner says. So happy I got it at that price :)

Honestly, I lost patience with them, for this sale.
first they launch a new site, WHILE SOME Tech-People are on HOLIDAY!!!!
(They told me!)
Then they Screwd up game categorisation completey and are unable to fix prices before they announce them.

So I bought the KB Plat. at 94% discount.

Hmm.. Already got all the KBs on Steam and don't feel like buying more DRMed versions :(
I'm hesitating . I have a strange feeling that 1C will release Armored Princess and Crossworlds on GOG within a few ( days ) weeks .
