I've been playing FTL and Heroes 3 on my laptop lately, can anyone recommend some other good games where using a touchpad works fine?

Strictly on GOG? If so there's . If not, I recommend [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/264200/One_Finger_Death_Punch/?l=portuguese]One Finger Death Punch.
I find the sim city games play fairly decently with a touchpad, I was just doing that myself.
Crypt of the Necrodancer.

It does not even have mouse support as far as i know ;)
Check youtube if you like the soundtrack though, you will hear the tracks of the first zone a lot in the beginning.
If you like that type of game, Gothic 1 and 2. They're controlled by keyboard only.
Paradox games don't need fast mouse movements and you can pause the game every second you want.

Underrail and older RPG-s aswell play pretty nicely with a touchpad.
Buy the old Sierra games, like Space Quest and Kings Quest. Not required at all.
The Cat Lady and Downfall are keyboard only games and both excellent adventures! The Cat Lady is especially good but you may want to play Downfall first to understand a few cameos that The Cat Lady has ;)
The Gold Box games - at least the first couple - play without a mouse: keyboard-only. Do they play well? That's for the individual player to decide.

I suspect Master of Orion - the original game - plays well with a track pad. Ditto Master of Magic.

Independence War 2 definitely, but that's because you use a joystick.
Everything that's not too action-oriented and time sensitive, I guess. Point-and-click adventures, turn-based games (e.g. Shadowrun series, Expeditions: Conquistador, Steamworld Heist, TB strategy), even some slower real time RPGs might work (e.g. I play Evil Islands with touchpad, too), and puzzle games. Or arcade games, action adventures and platformers that you can play with keyboard only (like the early Tomb Raider games; IIRC, UnEpic works fine, too).

I guess this is not what you had in mind, but if you own a gamepad, there's a lot of games you can play without mouse as well. ;) Granted, you'd have to plug it in just like a mouse, but the advantage is that you don't need any extra space, no smooth surface like you'd need for the mouse, so you could theoretically play anywhere.

You could also try and find what you're looking for in GOG Mixes; a quick google search turned up these, for example:

Laptop Essentials
30 minutes, a cup of coffee and a netbook
No cursor needed

Recently, I've played lots of modules for Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures (using the most modern engine of the GB games) on my laptop without a mouse, and it works great. It supports mouse, but can still be played with keyboard only, and even should you prefer to use the mouse cursor for some things instead, it's easy enough to handle with a trackpad.
Any platformer should work without a mouse. For example Freedom Planet.
Dust: an Elysian Tail is best played without a mouse. The keys are WASD to move, Spacebar to jump, QE to dodge, JKL to attack and H to heal.
Doom1, 2 and Final Doom
Might and Magic 1-5. 6 is also very do-able
