So, Gotcha. Basically, its one of games of my childhood - there I've spent more time, than in cs 1.6, especially when I've had no connection. In its core, its your generic FPS, yet in paintball setting - instead of oneshooting enemy with AWP, you need to paint them (yet there still were weapons with better stats, that was able to hit for multiple points at once). No melee weapons - just primary, secondary and grenades (which was OP if used correctly).
Game had campaign, in which you could create (like really - select your flag (out of existing, sadly), name, players (there was multiple models with, iirc, different stats and strategy, when controlled by AI) your team and try uself as part of big paintball tournament. It wasnt necessary to play, yet this campaign was (iirc) the only was to get some unlockable characters.
Aside from campaign, your usual game modes to play vs AI or other people are there - Deathmatch, CtF, King of the Hill (a.k.a "one vs everyone"), Captain (I remember something like territory control too, but probably my memory betrays me and these scenes are from CtF).

So, what made it special for me? Well, as I've said above, its *almost* impossible to oneshoot there. I was really noob in CS and even bots could pwn me. But in this game I really felt some sort of progression - tactics dominated over aim. Also I remember AI itself being more "creative", than in cs - instead of having nearly-perfect aim, they used tactics and map.
And, just like in lot (if not most) of action games of its time, it had its own tricks to master (a.k.a secret camping spots, that required you to be very skillfull to reach, yet rewarding).

I know, that its mostly about my own memories, than something that may be intresting for usual fps player. But, if there is anybody else who remember this game - join the discuss and/or vote it on wishlist

Voted, :D

I had the original Gotcha game for NES. Three backgrounds. Got old after about ten minutes. :P
Ah, the worst game ever after Big Rigs. The memories! XD

Edit: sorry, I am wrong. I confused it with extreme paintbrawl. THAT is the second worst game ever.

i doubt it, but they do look kind of similar. This one looks like a way more updated version of the original, which is why I mentioned it. I seriously would love to see it here and I thank you for bringing it to our attention.

It looks like this, are those mods, or are they part of the game, where you shoot it out in other classics? Am I seeing that wrong?

that's because it's early, and I can't type. :P

What I meant to say, is it looks like there are some great MODS for this game offering you the chance to play inside of other classics like so, which is way cool.

By its textures, this looks like a metro map

I would vote for any new game even though I might be uninterested in it, someone could use my vote to make their dreams come true. I might pick it up anyway in a giveaway or sale.

You're welcome.

Many here have a backlog as well, I have a rather large collection but what I actually play, depends on my mood. So I get it.
Thank you for voting! This game should be released again.
