Old school, new content.

FoxTail, the charming In Development point & click about a young fox looking for a way to cure her granny, has just received a big update full of spiffy improvements and fluffy content. The game is also 10% off until June 3, 10pm UTC.

Some highlights:
- Two new optional mini-quests
- More than 600 additional phrases for Leah to say while trying to figure out the puzzles
- New quest entries in the diary
- Arrows to indicate area transitions or the available pages in a book
- Dialogue flow and usability improved
- Music now professionally mastered

Before you go back to your noble quest, please be aware that OLD SAVE GAMES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with this new version. It is strongly recommended that you start a new game.

Dartpaw86: The game isn't released yet, and they're already coming out with an update? O_o

Edit: I somehow missed the "in dev" portion of this message.

gamesfreak64: yup............
and the cpu usage is only solved 50% in my case so ................ i guess this game will be on the shelve till eternity :D
cause it still doesnt perform well enough ( wintermute/visoniar/unity ( bad (to high) CPU usage)
Anywa i will ignore this game and any new games arriving till my problem is solved which they will never be able to solve ....
You said this a few times already so I got curious. Normally I simply play games and disregard CPU usage or such as long as the game seems to run stutter free. However - this time I watched my CPU usage and started the game. My CPU usage is about 25%. Do you consider this to be too much already or does it get worse later in game?

Usually what 25% means is you've got a game that only uses one thread of a quad core, or two threads of a eight core CPU.
Hm, looks interesting. Wishlisted untill it is out of in dev. :)
Hmmm if it wasn't a point&click...

Although i'd probably buy it anyways at some point...

Reminds me, gotta play inherit the earth.... unrelated except that it's anthro.

25% is a constant meaning 1 quarter of CPU power will be use for that single process (game)
Old Red Alert 2 and expansions , even dune 2000 ( after the fix to make it run and install under 64 bits) run 25%
meaning the temp will not go down ( celcius) other games vary between 5 to 25% giving the cpu a chance to cool down a bit....

The old games are known not to support or poorly support multiple cores, so 25% all the time is taken for granted in a way...
but i expect a moderen upt o date game to full and correctly support doubele and quad cores.

Yes usually it should but is doesnt.....

all 4 cores are used , some a few % less but all are used, its not like 1 or 2 are being overused.....
i think it is engine (unity) related or .... programming related.

Of course but if a modern CPU runs at 25% it won't get hot at all.

If we are still talking about Foxtail - they don't use unity, they use wintermute.

A shorter more convenient form of the word: totally. This word is most commonly used by teenage girls.

Yes, I've picked up some nasty habits from the various conversations in the office. Help me. ;-p

I'll take some of those girls and replace them with some pretty boring and unsexy colleagues of mine - how's that?

Yes i know, i have bella donna ( casualgame) using visionaire player or wintermute and that game eats CPU aswell, games 25% or more cpu ( continous) eating are: visionaire/winternute/unity games
Anyway i bought Gallo and will try it :D
