It's always saddening how casually open people can be with their bigotry. Anything that's not het white male is woke, which is bad, because it's not het white male.

I guess we've reached a point of this absurd culture war where real people start to think like cartoonish bad guys.
We haven't just reached this point. I respectfully submit that perhaps you've only recently become aware of it. There are tons of people who've experienced this their whole lives... the existence of countless millions of others who are GLAD when they suffer. And the generations of this conflict between A and B has reached the point where you're now aware of it, like a war that spreads throughout a region.
As to a point that was made back the beginning of this thread and, I don't think a basic plotline would be too hard to come up with. Have the show start in a vault, like F1. The first episode or two we see life in the vault, get to know characters, hear of how scary and unknown the outside world is, build the mystery. We learn the residents are generally educated professionals... scientists and engineers... but also somewhat frail and flabby. When the MC leaves, we learn of this new world at the same time as they do. We learn together. Each episode could have some minor problem, which also teaches us about the new world. Revealing new creatues, difficulty in food/water, danger of radiation, existence of mutants, etc. Overarching all, there could be some tension in the vault, just like F1. There's a problem that needs to be fixed, which drives the MC through this new world, but it's not critical, so we're not stressed every episode.
Visuals can appeal to cyberpunk fans, tone can appeal to gritty realists, interactions can appeal to "wild west" fans. You might start with snobbishness of the "civilized" MC versus the "dirty" locals, but over time they learn they know less than the locals, and they learn to look past appearances and judge people's characters, not their mutated bodies.
