Will Fallout 3 ever come out for Win 7/8? I don't know if this is the sort of thing GOG does. I purchased the game just to find out it doesn't run on my laptop and there are no plans by the developer to make it playable.
it runs just fine on my windows 7 64 bit
no tweaks neccesary other then installing the official patch
Hmm...... worked fine on both w7 and 8 for me. What is the problem? Maybe someone knows a solution.

The Fallout 3 multi-core fix should help with Windows 7/8 issues. That page also has other fixes you could try.

Failing that, if you have Fallout: New Vegas you can play the Fallout 3 content through it using the Tale of Two Wastelands mod. I don't know how complete this mod is (I'm only about a quarter of the way through Fallout 3's main quest so far) but it's certainly a great way of playing Fallout 3 with the New Vegas improvements.

i played falliut 3 first on a core 2 duo with vista and later on various win 7 machines
never had a problem
that tales of two wastelands mods looks interesting though

...im going to dig up fallout 3
I know it's not likely, but I really wish Fallout 3 could make it to GOG! It was an excellent FPS/RPG!

I agree :)
I love Fallout 3, just the mention of it makes me itch to install it.

I would be very disappointed if it didn't work on Windows 7, as I thought I had tried it before after XP.

Read this guide and your game will work on win7/8 (32/64 bit) without any problem.

When I playd F3 the first time on my older Win7 system I encountered a lot of issues after I installed the DLC content. Before that the game ran well, but the DLC somehow messed up the game and caused it to crash from time to time. This was ages ago though, and when I replayed it some time ago on my Win8 machine, I had no issues.
All this talk of Fallout 3 is putting me in the mood to play this game. What is the best weapon in the game BTW? And the best armor in the game?

Cool. I didn't know Fallout 3 has the Power Armor from Fallout.

I think you can maybe redeem your CD key for F3 on steam
