That something like that would be attempted was pretty obvious given the earlier leak. However the two big issue are :
How many years will it take to complete ? The leak is incomplete and broken it not just some minor cleaning, it needs full level created, plenty of bug fixes and others. Not an easy task.
And the main elephant in the room : will Gearbox and Randy-boy C&D it to oblivion long before it can be finished or not.
