Hello, I am new here. I have read somewhere on this forum that GOG is deleting files (older patches, builds, etc.). So I want ask you: Is it possible to download files what were deleted ? For example via command for Galaxy console (or something like that) like it has steam - download files via console using depot, manifest ID of files. Gog database exists - h t t p s : / / w w w . g o g d b . o r g, there are some old buils (not all), so it would not be problem to get manifest ID. I would like to move from steam to GOG, because of DRM-free games. However I need know the answers on this questions first....

I would be appreciated if someone from GOG team responded to me to be sure of the answer.

Note: Don't ask me questions like: Why would you want to use an older builds ?

No. At the moment you can only download what is made available, ie the installers and the most recent patches. However, as these are drm free, you can store them yourself. Then you would have an archive of all builds, and patches from the date you brought it. It is on the wish list to get a feature such as download specific versions, but it is not implemented, nor any known plan of when/if it will happen.
For example:

There are other entries on the wish list.

Thanks for answer. I will stay on steam for now, however I appreciate the efforts of GOG - Good Old Games, Gog Galaxy 2.0 to connect platforms, nice goodies, GOG connect. I hope in the future they will add this feature too. Have a nice day.

Renomator:
afaik on Galaxy you can roll back a few versions
How do I revert (rollback) to an older game version?

Once you have the game installed on your machine, and added to Galaxy, click on it in the side-bar on the left. Select MORE -> Settings, and turn off the Auto-Updates option.
If the game has any older versions available to revert to, you can select them under VERSION section.

You can also contact support. They can give you access to older versions of a game.

That’s a good point. However they might not have all versions. Would be interesting to see what version of Diablo 2 is released (if ever), as one of the earlier versions would be preferable (9b is it, been a long time since I played it).
Anyways, if there is a specific reason to hold on to a version, it can likely be found online. I would imagine in o9% of the time you would want the most recent. Only if a patch breaks something or causes mod incompatibility would you want a specific version. Still, it would be ideal if we could download at least gog released versions, there have been rafts of updates over the last year or so adding galaxy components into older games (you can see this if you download dungeon keeper now, it contains galaxy.dll etc) which bloats the installer, so I would want to keep the old version = exact same game, with the galaxy crap.
