nightcraw1er.488: How does moving to Android help, or do you mean that you no longer bother with PC games?
Naturally if I play on Android then cracks for PC games do nothing for me. On the other if "cracks" is used to mean any sort of software which allows playing the game which is not the original executable, such as ScummVM, then yes, I'm using cracks.

No. I don't see a reason to do it. Having a DVD in the drive to play a game is not that annoying for me. And nowadays all my newer games aren't bought as retail version anyway. I buy them as downloadable versions at gog, Steam, humble store and so on.

Yes, and both for physical and digital games.
In the "old days" I used No CD to play the game without needing the CD/DVD in the drive nowadays I always download an up to date crack for all Steam/Origin/Uplay games I buy (the exception being those I don't care at all for like the ones I got during sales or in bundles).

Well with MS effectively blocking disc check DRM games you have to figure out a solution somehow.

Do I use cracks? Yes
Why do I use them? As I was buying more games than I could ever hope to play at the time (short explanation: I was working long hours and buying games was a way of rewarding myself for doing so, ignoring the obvious shortcoming in my strategy that had to do with that limited resource called time), I needed a guarantee that I'd still be able to play those games sometime in the future when I would have a chance to actually play them. And there are also games that I have managed to play which I've enjoyed playing so much that I still want to be able to keep playing in the future. And I also like the freedom of being able to play games I've paid for when I want, where I want, and how I want.
Do I like using cracks: No, but there's an irony that I have to rely on pirates to create a tool that is necessary just because those pirates exist in the first place.
When did I last install a crack? I can't actually remember. GOG's allowed me to re-buy DRM-free versions of a lot of my games. Now I know many will think I'm nuts (although I've never claimed to be sane) and point out that since I already own the games and have working cracks, why buy the games again? Well, see the answer in the paragraph above. And if that doesn't satisfy you, then try this: I play games for fun to relax and de-stress by taking a break from the real world, and one thing that doesn't make me feel relaxed is having to use cracks. Yes, it's purely psychological, and costs me money to boot, but we all have our own unique quirks. And since I also find cracks to be a hassle in general, I haven't bought a DRM-infected game for a very long time. That said: GOG!, you still have a lot of work to do! I've still got dozens of cracks I'd like to get rid of! For starters, the last game I bought with DRM was Batman: Arkham City GOTY.
