I wonder if this is my fault? I emailed the company to suggest them to update 60 Seconds to reatomized and never got a response from the game developer or GOG, then shortly later they remove the games from GOG. Maybe GOG was not suppose to have them on the site?

Was the GOG version missing some update? Maybe they had forgotten they are selling it on GOG too, and didn't feel like updating it, so they did the second best thing, ie. removing the abandoned game from GOG.

I wouldn't feel bad if I were you. I never do.

Even if that were the case, you absolutely did the right thing... well, we shouldn't have to beg the companies to update their games here, but if GOG does absolutely nothing about it there's just no other choice
And everyone that owns it on gog should get a 100% refund.

Goddammit this is getting old. If some people purchase a game (at Steam) and others somewhere else (gog), and one set of those purchasers gets updates, added content, etc. FOR THE SAME PRICE, then it seems to me there just has to be some legal action in there somewhere. Probably not though since corporations literally write the copyright laws now.

This is so wrong on so many different levels. And I'm not talking about this specific game in this specific circumstance, the whole system has been corrupted. Just like nearly every other system in today's late stage capitalism.

It is two different versions. If you look at Steam, you can buy 60 Seconds for £6.99
(https://store.steampowered.com/app/368360/60_Seconds/)
and 60 Seconds: Reatomized for £7.99
(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1012880/60_Seconds_Reatomized/)

What was on gOg was the first one of these. the second one never came here.

The customers of gOg got exactly what they paied for, nothing more and nothing less.

Oh, sorry, my bad. I was under the impression that the "upgrade" was free for owners of 60 seconds. I know I didn't remember buying it a second time, but maybe I did and forgot. If It was a free upgrade for owners of 60 seconds on Steam, then all of what you just posted is moot. But I'll take your word for it that they've always been two separate games, and I simply forgot that I purchased the "upgrade".

great remaster of the original game. props to the devs for giving this for free to the people who bought the original (smart move really, theirs not enough content for me to buy the game a 2d time, but still, very good additions! if this were any other company this would be some 25$ season pass or whatever. good on you robot gentlemen)

definitely buy this if it looks interesting to you. its a simple game, but its really fun. you could easily kill a few hours with this. 10$ is worth it tbh
I knew I didn't remember buying it again. So it seems gog purchasers did NOT get the same return for their price.

I will give them credit for their statement on Unity engine fees.

The recent Unity runtime fee license change and the way it was introduced has been a shocking development for all of us at Robot Gentleman. The predatory nature of this misguided decision poses a significant threat to the work and independence of many game developers, including ourselves. We do not accept this, and we cannot simply stand by, watching this outrageous violation of trust.

We are bidding adieu to Unity. For good.

Our next project, which has been in development for 4 years, will be migrated to the Godot Game Engine. Furthermore, all our released games from the 60! series will be ported away from Unity as soon as possible.

But there is more. We have been supporting Godot financially since July 2022. We have now decided to increase our support to 1500$/month, effectively redirecting the value of our Unity licenses to Godot. Our engineers will also contribute to the development of the engine, as we pursue our next and future projects in Godot.

The chosen direction is challenging, but in the face of Unity's conduct this was the only decision to be made. This change is likely to introduce a few twists and turns and cause delays in our ongoing projects. However, once we navigate this transition, we believe we will find ourselves in a much better space to continue our independent journey.
Bold added

Funny how when they're the customer in the business/customer relationship, they don't much like being treated unfairly. But when they're on the business side and gog purchasers are the customers....

Well I was hoping in my asking they would update to reatomized. Funny they removed the 60 Parsecs also, I wonder if it is also not the latest version, or maybe there was a license dispute over the titles. Either way it would be a big coincidence on their removal after I emailed the developer.

Maybe they will offer again, but I think its a pirate thing with them. Steams version blacks out if your try to copy it from steam and the GOG versions do not. I know that steam is out of the question for me since I use win7 and it will no longer support it at the end of this year. Hence why I bought the 2 games here, but I am use to the reatomized version which has more content.

Anyway if they did this because of me I am sorry to all the rest, who knows maybe the developers will get whats coming to them...
