ElTerprise: Can't really help you with it - but apparently the TB has it on his GOGmix - in case you care about his opinion.
That's just great...reminds me a bit of my ethernet issues i had with Linux because apparently my router is not able to recognize my lInux system on a dual boot as a seperate connection setting....which resulted in constantly losing my Ethernet connection when i tried to install Arch Linux...
That's totally bogus. From what I remember your choice of OS should be independent of your router, because it connects to your NIC (your network card) it doesn't deal with your OS. The router doesn't even need to know what OS you're running. All the router needs to do is undestand TCP/IP, which is also the NIC's job, your OS's job is feed the NIC data chunks it can understand, that's all.

At least that'd be the ideal setup.

I do value his opinion, I do think he's quite sensible. Right, Shadow Magic it is.

That's actually a fetish.
Don't ask me how I know this, also don't ask about hentai.

Well i tried it multiple times and when i have multiple OS's installed on my laptop the Ethernet fails for Linux despite being properly configured - i don't know why it does that ....

Me too...that's why i was sharing the link. :)

I'd blame your network card before I do the router, it might be one of those that depends on windows hacks. Is it the motherboard integrated one? Have you tried installing a different NIC? If you indeed have, I'll shut up and blame the router as well.
PS: I just noticed the word laptop. Of course it's the integrated one. Sorry.
You might be able to solve the problem through a USB dongle, but that might be more trouble than it's worth.
PPS: Does it affect both wifi and wired connections? They should be independent devices from each other, so if it does indeed happen with both of them, it might be the router indeed.

Silly person. There's some for bathing, and a separate pot for drinking. -laughs-

Well it's a laptop with a Intel network card - don't know if i can install another NIC ... but it be that because the laptop (it's a Lenovo Ideapad) doesn't have the best driver support even for Windows....

And i don't have any problems whatsoever when have Linux (well tried it with Debian) installed as my sole OS on it....it only happens with a mulit-OS setup...

But i haven't tried installing Arch on my other computer yet which also has an ethernet connection. But there is also the slight possibility that i messed something up when installing Arch....

It might be a simple problem of driver support, I've just looked up Arch, which I didn't know about. It's a cool minimalistic distro but it might not include backup drivers for moody devices.

Might be...that could be but don't fully trust my router because it has its oddities....to say the least....

Ah... yours does too? ):-\

[/unhelpful smartass] :-p
Only 114 minutes to go...hooray.
Who wants some hugs? And nothing like binge watching Gintama when you're tired and with nothing to do.
And things here in my aunt's house are quite calm, nothing to worry and it's been like 3 years that I don't see her or my cousins.
Next time you see Cecil, kindly beat the living hell out of him with +1s for me :-)

(I know linking to posts is pretty broken, but this random one should take you close enough.)

That link worked, and done. =)
Goog morning!

We still have one hour of wait until the next refresh.
Are there too many ninjas or things are calm around here?
