Looks pretty cheap, and I don't really get the point of trucking in space.
There is no winding roads, no tricky reversing with trailer, no varying landscapes, no day/nighcycle, no relaxing rainy weather, not loads of AI traffic and traffic rules...
I'd rather have some Elite style of trading/pirating game for space hauling.

Please just give us Euro Truck Simulator 2!
It's been out for ages, and has loads of DLC:s, so would probably bring loads of money - specially since it would have no competition at all in here in that genre!

Perhaps, but they'll probably have DLC that'll give you the Shatner version.

edit: BTW, does anyone even remember the Space Truckers movie?

This reminds me of Heavy Metal Queen episode from Cowboy Bebop :)
high rated
Alas, no Dennis Hopper in this.
This game looks promising. It and the movie might well have been inspired by author John DeChancie's Skyway series of novels. Starrigger - Red Limit Freeway - Paradox Alley. They were exceptionally well written and immersive.
Star Tr... (heart beats faster) ...ucker

Oh come on!

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw this game.

Well the movie was absolutely not "exceptionally well written and immersive", or even moderately well written, so I don't know about that. Not that the movie didn't have some entertainment value, but it was definitely a low quality "B movie".
I'd love to see some Mad Max-inspired themes, like

Not to be confused with
https://www.gog.com/en/game/space_run
Which is a fun space-freight-hauling themed tower defender.
C'mon, let's go space truckin'

This is exactly what came to my mind when I saw this game pop up. I actually watched that cheesy A.F. movie back in the early '00. Not what I'd call a great movie, but it had a certain level of bad movie charm as well as a few solid laughs in it.

Can't say how good the game will be, but I might give it a try.
Two dimensional thinking.

Didn't think I'd see a game set in space fall into this dumb trope again.

The whole thing about space is that you have all of X, Y, Z, and sometimes and extra letter to work with! There's a lot of room.

Also, the iconography of the US highway system strikes me as a completely cornball decision. Why not put a bean bag toss minigame if you're gonna slap us in the face with half baked Americana, eh?

That's exactly what came to mind as a reference.

Since Dennis Hopper was mentioned, Waterworld style game would be cool too:

Though there is Oil Rush which is sort of similar. Not sure why it's not here yet.
