mrkgnao: The shoot-'em-up element nullifies any tactics it may have, at least for me.
eric5h5: Lots of turn-based games have shooting in them, just not real-time. It's a turn-based game. But in the side-scrolling format of the arcade game it's based on. Which is novel, as nearly all other tactics games are top-down.
So there are no real-time elements in this game?
Edit: I read a couple of reviews and it seems clear to me now that this is not a "shoot-'em-up" game at all (as "shoot-'em-up" is a very specific genre, not just "games with shooting in them"). Referring to this as "shoot-'em-up action" does a disservice to the game, I believe.
I'm still not sure whether this is primarily a tactics game (like, say, FFT or Fell Seal) or a strategy game (like, say, HOMM or XCOM), but that's another question.
