This sci-fi colony sim storyteller, driven by an intelligent AI truly needs no introduction. RimWorld is designed to co-author tragic, twisted, and triumphant stories about imprisoned pirates, desperate colonists, starvation and survival. Now, its newest DLC Biotech is coming soon on GOG!

This instalment focuses on three features. Ability to control mechanoids (large and aggressive ancient machines that are a recurring threat in the world of Rimworld), ability to give birth to and raise children, and biotechnology which will let the players genetically-modify people to create xenohumans.

What can possibly go wrong with those powers? Well, it would be best to see for yourself and create awesome new tales!

the children are going to have guns
I'd love to get it, but 'learning' the game seems like a time investment...and it's never on sale.
One day I'll get it (eventually). :P
I will buy it faster than the speed of light.

This is only their third DLC for RimWorld, unlike Paradox...

It's been on sale this year, I think even within the last few months. It never goes on sale for a lot off when it does, though. The maker (much like some others, like Shovelknight) preserve the value of their games. And this one is definitely worth it.

It does indeed have a steep learning curve -- and super long play if you want to achieve one of the endings (I've never done that). It's worth every penny to me; a really good 9+/10 game. And that's before mods -- which I haven't even touched myself yet!

I can only interpret your comment with a pretty negative connotation; but it falls flat here. RimWorld isn't like that all. Each expansion is really meaty with a ton of content that touches on every part of the game and introduces whole new systems. None of it feels like "content withheld to carve out and sell later" or anything like that. The next update also is moving some of the previously-expansion content into the core part of the game, too.

The news is nice, but the modders are very sloppy. The modders make so many mistakes and yet the mods are the main appeal. Everything stays in a permanent state of broken. Except vanilla game and dlc. Difficult call really.
I used to play it waaay back in alpha stage when there were far less features, now it's just overwhelming. I like the building aspect, not so much babysitting your colonists and micromanaging their needs.

I know it's worth it, but I don't have a lot of money to spend at the moment. :D
The 10% off are 'negligible'. :)

Yep, that is the problem. I'd buy it at 16€, but 26€ is a bit too much for me to be honest.

I wouldnt put Rimwold and Shovelknight into the same box. The Rimworld dev has always said he never will put the game on sale (the only discount its had is 10% and never been lower as far as i know). Shovelknight...unless im wrong has gone discounted on the other store... and only started discounting on GOG when people complained ?. that dev doesnt always treat gog equally well as the other store..
In the Rimworld steam discussion page pinned to the top is this thread: RimWorld mythbusting, and what's been important to us recently.

On another note, I've noticed some broken-telephone going on about things I've said in the past, so I think it's worth correcting the record here to be clear.

Some people were under the impression that I said I was finished with RimWorld. The truth is expressed in this Reddit post from January 2017. I said at that time, "It won't be perfect, of course. Nothing ever is. And I won't even be finished with it. But - it'll be finished."

I've seen a few messages indicating people thought I said the game would never ever go on sale. That would be a pretty extreme position and it's one I have never held. You'll see in this July 2016 Reddit post I note that RimWorld could go on sale someday. I said at that time, "Of course it'll be on sale eventually, but that's probably years away." Note that this post right now is not saying that it'll be on sale soon or later or never - I'm just clearing the air on things I've said in the past. Anyway, thanks for reading everyone. Happy to answer any more questions. Last edited by Tynan; Feb 25, 2020 @ 8:59pm

But like all you guys mentioned slim % off on the sales but it seems equally slim on all the storefronts.

Whats the price on this new Dlc same as the last two?
So many DLCs to look forward to in the next two months. First this one for RimWorld that I’m really looking forward to.
Next is Solasta with the Bard, Monk and Warlock expansion. And finally Sisters of Battle is coming for Gladius. It’s like all these devs conspire to make sure they all release at around the same time! (I’m joking!) All of them are instabuys for me too.
