Sachys: I've tried the first game several times but the terrible performance and control issues keep putting me off. Maybe it'll get an update to reflect thatr if 2 does okay.

According to GOG Database the first game received a new update today:

I never played the first game but I watched some gameplay of it. It was ok but nothing outstanding imo. Performance was for sure its biggest problem back then (could be improved by now). Kinda surprised to see a sequel being announced. Guess despite its issues the first game did sell well enough to make developing a second game worth it. Maybe I'll pick up the first game at some point in the future when the second game has also been released and there's a combo bundle or a high discount available. For the moment both can dwell on my wishlist.
