Probably every gamer knows about Colossal Cave - that text adventure from 1975.

Now, Roberta Williams - the brains behind King's Quest, Phantasmagoria, and lots more - is remaking the game into a 3D adventure. You can read more about it, as well as seeing a trailer, on her website here:

It would be fantastic to see this game here on GOG. Please vote for it in the Wishlist.

It would also be fantastic to get the original text adventure, as a bonus.
Vote +1!
Why making 2 entries in community wishlist? O.o A glitch or something else?

Sorry, that's a glitch. I hadn't realised it was posted twice, until just now.

Could a Blue remove one of the entries please?

EDIT: I noticed an Options menu in the Wishlist entry, so I reported one of them as a duplicate. Thanks for letting me know.

RARE interview that has remained hidden for 40 years: Roberta Williams talks Colossal Cave
"Roberta unleashed. Talks Colossal cave 40 years ago! Includes behind-the-scenes Jim Henson design review."

Also:
"COMING FALL 2022"
This looks awesome. I love so much retro stuff coming together. It's got my vote.

Done.
I did not see a video.
Will this be a full 3D game or will this be a grid-movement game?

Oh, one of my browser plugins was blocking the video.

While the engine seems to support full freedom of movement, I don't feel like I know the answer. What we see may be the animated transitions from one spot to another.
To me, it would make more sense to limit the interactive points to discrete locations and animate the transactions between them, since all other locations would be boring. But at the same time, I believe that would limit the market somewhat, and it would be possible that the re-creators took some liberty and re-imagined the game in a more dense space.
Do we know if a GOG release is planned? They will be at the Game Awards, so there is a good chance they'll announce the release date there.

Well, given that the game will be for VR...
(quote) "Colossal Cave is a reimagining of the original text-based adventure game, first introduced in 1975 by Will Crowther and Don Woods, as a fully immersive 3D VR experience. (end of quote)

...it (most) probably will be of the "transition from one spot to another" variant.
That's what VR games usually do, to prevent users from getting "sea sick".

But, of course - only at release will we really know.

I think that the little gameplay they showed on their channel used fixed spots in the non-VR version, so that's probably going to be the way it works regardless.

Oh, is it? I only played VR games once or twice, and I did feel a bit unwell at some point. But the same happened after karting, so I'm not sure what happened. :-)

But given what you say, we all seem to agree on this element. Thank you for your helpful contributions.
The release date is here (January 19, 2023):
