phaolo: I already saw there was a PC version, but I thought you only made the port.

blotunga: Well there are two PC versions. The original and my Java port :)
Ahh, I see thanks.
Nicely done!

Not in
(already have the games on steam and would like to see a newcomer to the series win - also been ploughing hours into it again recently).

BUT...

You should give Starmade a go - very similar in some respects, except you can build the ship frpom the ground up (in a voxel based, "minecraft" type way). I've only playe solo so far, but racked up over a hundred hours and guess what?!

THE DEMO IS THE FULL VERSION WHILE IN EARLY ACCESS! - so you can play and play and play and decide if you like it or not before spending anything!

Not in but I can't let go the chance to post this pic from The Simpsons 100th episode. :P
I'm in because I love Tie-Figher. It doesn't get better than this. You get to fight for the Dark Side of the Force with Darth Vader himself as your wingman. Good mission design, nice progression in difficulty and optional secondary goals as you rise through the ranks of the Empire. Think X-Wing, but cooler and more refined.

I also love Privateer. Like Elite (even if not just as huge) with a better story and better graphics (not that those are too important). You can decide to be a trader or mercenary or smuggler or pirate - or a bit of everything, as long as you don't get caught in the pirating stuff.
Bumper bump
Not in. Thank you for doing this giveaway. Actually i don´t give much atention to space-themed games, but FTL intrigues me. Maybe some day i buy it. +1.
Bump you said?
Not in, but congrats.

It barely counts as a space game — the starships were represented by giant capital letters, for Pete's sake! — but I have fond memories of SSI's The Cosmic Balance, probably because it was my first space war sim (Apple ][+ version, 1981 or so) and because it was the first game that allowed me the freedom to design my own warships, and then test those designs in battle.
Congratulations for your game's milestone blotunga!

I'm in because I love Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

Alpha Centauri is a 4x turn based strategy game, similar to the Civilization series but instead taking place on Earth, the "playground" is Chiron, a planet with the Alpha Centauri's star system.

I won't spoil any of the game's story.

Gameplay wise, it plays like a Civilization game so if you are accustomed to that, there won't be a problem to find how stuff works. If you' ve never played Civilization, a beefy well written manual plus an in-game tutorial awaits you, to help you learn all the aspects of the game. The races play differently and the replayability is great.

Regarding the sci-fi portion of the game, expect to see some actual science here and this is the #1 reason this game appeals to be so much. A look at the game's tech tree will convince you that Alpha Centauri is a very sophisticated game, just don't panick by the sheer amount of technologies; it's easy enough to get the grasp of.

If you are a strategy game fan and/or a Sci-Fi fan, you should really not miss this great game. Although to be honest, seeing what Birth of the Empires is all about, I don't think you missed playing AC! :P

Thanks for the giveaway & good luck to all entrants!

blotunga: The game (Birth of the Empires), that I've ported to Android is doing pretty well, and reached over 5000 downloads with an average rating of 4.2. The main remaining issue seems to be a lack of tutorial which I plan to fix until the new year, after implementing cloud saves.
This milestone calls for a celebration imho. Btw. my rep seems to have reached 1111 which is a really cool number ;). So double celebration it is.
To celebrate properly I have one copy of X3: Terran War Pack to win, which is probably the game that I've spent most time with (it's actually two games, X3 Terran Conflict and it's expansion Albion Prelude - both games can be played for thousands of hours without ever getting bored). It certainly is the series that I spent most time with. If you don't like space sims or suck at them, don't worry, I suck at them too, but the X games are more about empire building than about simulation. But the game can be played in any way you want. You can be a pirate, blowing up ships for profit or a trade magnate, it doesn't matter.

Now on how to enter:
- tell me about your favorite space-themed game, which is it, and why should i play it. Start with I'm in because I love and continue with your entry
- your account should be created before 01 November 2015 (sorry newbs - but it's hard to separate legitimate users from spammers)
- you should be an active member of the community (not just in giveaways)
- you shouldn't be on the known scammers list
- (Optional): visit the discussion thread about Birth of the Empires. You can try out the game even if you don't have a tablet, there are PC versions around, and tomorrow I'll update the PC versions with the latest fixes. Leave a feedback there if you like/dislike the game.

The giveaway will and at my discretion when interest fades or on the 7th of December, whichever comes first. The winner will be chosen by me taking into account the entry and other factors which may or may not be random.

Good luck!
thats a pretty good looking game you have there i\ll have to check it out when i get a chance, sadly i have too many new games atm to play through so i saved your link for later.
gave ya a + for your accomplishment and teh giveaway (not in btw)
goodluck to your giveaway entrants and with your game's future developments
Not in, but double-congrats! :)
And a bump
Bump?
Double congrats, blotunga! I'll check out the game.

Fun fact: 11.11 is the Singles day in China. It's also the Chinese equivalent of Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

I'm in because I love Star Wars: Dark Forces

The level design it's absolutely brilliant for its time (scratch that, it's brilliant for any time). The levels are large, non-linear and have puzzle elements. Which is already enough reasons to make it one of the best of early FPSs. Couple that with the Star Wars universe, fantastic soundtrack and awesome sound effects, you have the recipe for an unforgettable experience. There is something quite charming about the graphics too. In my opinion it looks and feels like a better game than the sequel.
