As the title says I'm trying to remember the name of a game I played back in the early 90's. As I was more of a console gamer at that time, I played it on a friends computer, I think it was a Macintosh, but can't say for sure. With any luck, not only will you folks help me find the name of the game, but it will also be here on GOG!

The game was about time travel and literally started with an alarm going off and an announcement about an incoming "time wave" or "time ripple" that would over write the "present". The game claimed that you had to quickly get your gear and travel back to the origin point before the time ripple arrived. That's as far as I got in the game before I had to stop so his dad could use the computer, and they moved away shortly after.

I'd appreciate any help given.

That kinda sounds like the Journeyman Project, I could be wrong.

Interesting, I know all 3 Journeyman Project games are here at GOG so I'll look up a play video of them tomorrow on YouTube.

Nah,...you're spot on.
From the JM Project-walkthrough:
"When you finish (or just skip) the 3 videos, an alarm sounds and Baldwin orders you to go to the Ready Room. While the alarm sounds, you have 10 minutes to use the Pegasus Device or the Temporal Ripple catches up with you and alters your universe and game over."

MasterZoen: The game [...] literally started with an alarm going off...
Not exactly true.
The first alarm is your alarmclock going off (at about four to five minutes into the game - after the intro).
The alarm you are referring to, comes 10 to 15 minutes later.

MasterZoen: ...
you could try asking on Reddit too, like r/tipofmytongue or an appropriate gaming subreddit
