Between NA, EU and JP, which region was the best this year? Which one produced the most great games, or perhaps those few quality titles that still stand out from the rest to you?

I'm voting for EU, too much of my first games are from this year, Donkey Kong Country and Killer Instinct on SNES and X-Com, Little Big Adventure, Magic Carpet and Theme Park on PC. I can't defect against them.
I though this would easily go to the region that produced Donkey Kong Country, but one look at Japan, and I can't.
Langrisser II, Final Fantasy VI, Breath of Fire II and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 are just too good.
But even NA produced a lot of good games that year. The games got better everywhere.
Went with Japan yet again but it's a bit closer. A strong year for each region really. My faves from this year with a rough ranking:
