kud13: Still no Galaxy Achievements for Arkham Knight?

Come on,, RockSteady....

IBranthrax: I feel the same way, if it doesn’t have achievements I don’t buy it.
tbh, imo if achievements are that important to you, you should just use Steam

dyscode: §10 for Origin Season Pass- WTF?
avatar
M3troid: Yeah. The double price of the base game.

WTF indeed.
WB for whatever reason doesn't want to just bundle in Arkham Origins with its Season Pass yet they have it at a higher price than the base game whenever the game goes on sale. The amount of times I see the Season Pass be $10 while the base game is $5 during a sale on Steam boggles my mind all the time.

Doesn't help that Arkham Origins' Season Pass just doesn't have much to it compared to Arkham Knight's Season Pass.

While we're at it, might be nice to have that patch with the two WB Games skins into the GOG version, since Steam and the console versions of Arkham Knight have them now. I know you can still mod those two skins in but still.

Dear gog, I would really appreciate some more variety in games. I don't like steam, but I like their vast huge variety. I wont ever use steam again, so if you would consider expanding your variety, I would gladly buy more games more often (if I find something I like, at a fair price, and can afford it) Every time there's a sale I always feel like I waited so long, only to find mostly the same games I always see on sale, in what feels like a never-ending rotation. It's like when there's a kid and their parents say to them every single day "Hey want to try this broccoli?" and the kid says "No thanks I tried it yesterday, and the day before, and the day before, and the day before, and I didn't like it, so no thank you" and the parents look at them with this strange face like "LoL YoU hAvEnT eVeR hAd BrOcCoLi BeFoRe, CmOn JuSt TrY iT LoL"
and the kid is like "hey this isn't fair" Steam has a tremendous GIANT library of games, and they get new ones more often than gog I think. Why isn't gog doing the same thing? Honest question. I'm only writing this because I'm still not finding any fun games to play.

Thank you gog for reading my feedback. Have a nice day.

Worthless cinematic trailers, worthless screenshots, shoddy layout with no comparison to other versions.
So little care was put into listing these games on gog.

Dude, please! Your newfound chummy partner, Epic, gave out the entire series, complete with season pass/deluxe edition for free, a long time ago at that and DRM-Free! Your overdelayed, overpriced, second hand merchandise... Just beautiful.

GOG version of Batman collection is "too niche"! Co-signed by: the real "Many Gamers"

Since you seem to suffer from the bad habit of (repeatedly) giving unsolicited advice, here's one for you - if you do not see the point of GOG having to sell the exact same, full-priced product as Steam, then you should either a) mind your own business or b) STFU. Preferably both.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: GOG could easily forbid games from coming onto its platform which they know will not have parity with the same game on other platforms.
If the "lack of parity" means useless shit like achievements or soundtracks, then I disagree.

All GOG has to do is to be open about what the GOG version has or doesn't have (like, clearly show in the gamecard if the game has achievements or not, I presume they do that already?), and after that it is up to the individual customers to decide if they want to buy the game from GOG or not.

Don't try to decline everyone from buying the game. That is just as stupid as claiming that Steam should not sell any games that are on GOG, because all Steam games lack one certain feature that GOG versions have: a separate offline installer version of the game. If the Steam versions don't include that too, then they should not be sold on Steam, right? After all, they are not on parity with the GOG version then (which is why many of us buy those games on GOG anyway).

Sounds just as stupid as your demand.

So how about GOG games where the Steam version has Steamworks support, but the GOG version doesn't? How do you add Steamworks support to the GOG version?

To fulfill all those requirements that the GOG version should be 100% the same as the Steam version, in practice it would mean GOG should just sell Steam keys for the games, not GOG versions.

Or I'll keep saying what I want (unless it breaks forum rules), and you cry about it I guess. Then we can have a big ol' brawl in the streets and Western Civilization will end :)

Obviously GOG is not getting perfect feature parity and will not be in the near future and very well may never, and these older Batman games (making far less money here on GOG than Steam anyway) are certainly not a priority for the companies involved, so if that person loves achievements so much (I'm not saying he can't), it makes sense to stick with Steam because he'll know for sure the games have achievements. I prefer supporting GOG for the DRM-free installers though I wouldn't buy new games here personally.

I re-bought the games when they came out, because it's probably my favourite AAA franchise of the past decade, and it's cool to have them DRM free.

It's just annoying when some games in a series do have them and others don't (see also: Darksiders)

Not a game-breaker, for me. But a nice extra to have.
An EPIC giveaway is nice but i still like to buy the game on GOG when I have enjoyed it and it's available at an affordable price. That said, I don't have an interest in superheroes. Complaining for a sale on GOG because the game was a freebie somewhere else is pointless. Giveaways are not permanently free, the games are not free forever on the EPIC store.

It depends on the achievement. If it's "dies 100 times" or "level completed" I can pass,, but sometimes games are made with interesting achievements in mind and they are part of the experience. I would prefer them to be in-game though.

I'm not going to buy the game on Steam rather than GOG for this, but it can direct my purchases towards GOG games that have achievements that I care for rather than not, and how fair I consider the price. Am I getting less for the same price?

"Am I getting less for the same price?" I guess it depends on how much value one considers the DRM-free installers to have. One has to weigh his priorities. I personally don't care about achievements and prefer to buy on GOG to support the underdog and for the DRM-free-ness.

My comment was directed at someone who seemingly considered achievements his #1, or at least a huge, priority, and if that is the case, imo buying on Steam makes more sense than buying on GOG. Of course people can purchase whatever they want, and if you and others want to only purchase GOG games with achievements to show support for more games with achievements arriving here, go right ahead.

yep, reasonable. DRM-free is N.1 and I can live without the achievements. Still...I really think devs should implement them in-game for a full DRM-free product, because no launcher will be supported forever. If I really want a game I'll get it no matter what. But i might be undecided among a few and go first for the one treating me better. Also, some have pretty art and creative names, and can surprise you in a funny way while unlocking them. If a publisher is stubborn with new releases I might have a problem with them - but I understand that it would be inpractical and not cost reasonable to add achievements to older games here. The same for cloud saves and missing languages. Lack of German or Japanese audio is more likely to be a deal breaker for me.
I love Super Hexagon that I first got on GOG so I was happy to finally get all achievements on Steam after all the hours I put in it to "git gud" at it. In that case I felt I was missing something because getting those was a personal satisfaction as a gamer for me, with one of my fav titles ever. So, yeah, I got it on Steam too - kindly offered in the giveaway.
I would never expect the dev, a small one man project, to specifically add them here when Galaxy didn't even exist when the game arrived on GOG.
Other games that might be inferior on GOG are those lacking the Steam Workshop stuff, but I could never blame that to the devs.

I've asked this before on the Batman Arkham forums but does Arkham City on GOG install AMD Dual Core Optimizer like the other version?
