If it's an offline media (DVD disc) I'd assume no. However with digital only and no disc systems, i wouldn't be surprised if they force it on everyone with an update...

A lot of the stuff on PS4 was through their store. I know the ps5 has a digital only version. However even though everything is moving away from user ownership, that doesn’t necessarily mean any other software as PlayStation network is quite closed.

Thinking of getting a PS5. But getting hold of one, here in India, seems to be a tricky one. The supply seems to be really scarce.
