As the Bad Dream series is on discount I am thinking about getting the first game.
Is there anything specific to know before purchasing the game?
Like regarding performance, crashes, stability and any telemetry?

Also does the narrative hold up? The art style seems interesting.

The graphics are a masterpece; story and gameplay are interesting, but short.
I didn't experience any technical problems with the game.
The game offers 3 solution-routes, based on your decisions: bad, neutral and good.
Some puzzles are quite hard.
Navigating in the game can be sometimes confusing (but It's a dreamscape horror game, so you can't wonder about that).
Well, this game is different, and that's the reason why I like it.

Know that you are purchasing a video game which promises you fun and engagement but will most likely instead provide you with a numbing feeling of wasted time and life, or at best with a gnawing feeling of guilt and self-disappointment as the game sits unplayed in your library and your bank account hovers near zero.
