I played the beta, but didn't buy it.

That said, as someone who mostly plays MMOs as single player and am ho hum about endgame stuff I would still consider buying it on deep sale just for the exploration/farming parts of the game.

Unfortunately, it seems like half the internet is running on AWS nowadays so they are very much in the "too big to fail" category at this point.

For better or for worse, cloud providers are not all that interested in making multi-cloud standards the way browsers did and on-prem tooling, while 70%-80% there (seriously, the open-source tooling is incredible, it is just that a lot of it just feels unpolished and rough for the last mile or so), just hasn't kept the pace with public corporate-owned clouds in terms of operational convenience.
