Yeah. Hotline Miami's music gave me some serious eargasms.
I know it's not exactly the same genere but you should check out Unreal Tournament's (99) music. Elctronic at its best.
It's been going for 7 or 8yrs now with groups like Cut Copy and Chromeo being some of the earliest adopters that I recall. Labels like Kitsune in France really push the nostalgia as well.

For my taste Future Islands and Jupiter are doing interesting things with the sound. Although Jupiter's first album was more italo disco and their second (released this year) Bandana feels more 80s new wave.

There's also Vitalic that's a bit more on the aggressive side of things.

I'd enjoy seeing GOG bring this genre in a "music" section for sale, but Bandcamp really has that covered I guess. (Got to shop around)
