What are some of the best Dogfighting games on GOG or Steam right now? Can be oldshoool games of these styles too and even simulations of said game types is also fine. Also planes and helicopters only if possible.

I don't play such games myelf, but IL-2 is probably one of the most recent top titles, given how the genre is pretty dead:

It's very old now, but Strike Commander is still my favourite of the genre. It's best with a joystick, if you have one.

Red Baron is old but good Dogfighting game. Also it's pretty easy to play using keyboard and mouse or just keyboard controls.

I haven't tried them myself but I've heard a lot of good about Enemy Engaged: Apache vs Havoc and Enemy Engaged: Comanche vs Hokum. Supposedly there is a way to link these two games making them into one larger game that combines the content. Price is really good for them on GOG right now.

If I remember correctly especially the first of the series, I haven't tried the expansion pack yet so I can't comment on that.

Both of the above games are pretty good, unfortunately they are not currently on GOG so you will need to purchase them elsewhere if you are interested.

i know this dude said only 2 words and a link.. but just look at its name. so don't bother reading them, let alone click link ok? war thunder is full of cheaters, first thing u see when u run the game client is that easy anti-cheat is optional for everybody. i heard that even if u get caught, all that happens is a temporary ban, nothing more. i used to respect russia who owns war thunder as far as i know. but there were the cheaters in olympics and now cheaters in war thunder, etc etc. it's too weird to me. then there's the horrible bombing mechanics in the game which will catch up to u quickly if u play bombers or attackers, there's enemies who will camp the spawn points killing u over and over and u can't do anything about it except quit match and uninstall

Back in the day Wings was so good that people made a remaster 25 years later

I really liked Wings for what it did. One of the greatest storytelling in games when it came to action games back in the 80s. A little bit of topic but I love this game so much, I play this game at least once a year for decades now and I'm glad that this classic is on GOG!

I like the nature of it being semi open-world.
