On first boot up buttons now have words, the strange lag appears to be gone. Will post progress report after a few weeks.

No VM required.
This worked like a charm. I'm on week 77 and counting. For those who like to save a lot, as I do, once you get to a certain amount of saves, the game may crash. After running into this, I just started one of the "auto save" weeks, and I created a new save. I was good to go after this...... Thanks for this information!!! I've been playing this game since it first came out. All time favorite!!!
