The Beast Within continues the story of Gabriel Knight and Grace Nakimura but this time, they are no longer in New Orleans but in Germany, where Gabriel's family (and the Schattenjägers) come from.
With the new setting comes new technology: FMV!
Wait, wait, wait! If you think this game will suck because of it then you are wrong - completely wrong.
While I personally like the first part even more, I believe that The Beast Within is one of the greatest adventures of all time.
Great puzzles, amazing storyline, fantastic score and acting that actually is very, very good (even though some of the German is really bad - you can tell that some of the actors actually cannot speak German).
The best part is, that the game actually plays like a game and not like an interactive movie.
If you have any interrest in adventure games whatsoever you will love GK2 - and really should look at the other two Gabriel Knight games as well.
