I watched one of my favourite films, The Last Wave, again last night and was reminded of how many similiar elements there are to Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. To those of you who've seen it, do you think Jane Jensen took some ideas from it?

If you haven't seen it, The Last Wave is a 1977 film by Peter Weir that I can't recommend enough, especially to fans of Sins of the Fathers. I actually managed to find it on the tube, but I doubt it's supposed to be there.

I haven't seen that movie but now I'm interested. I know GK was also heavily inspired by the 1987 movie Angel Heart which is also set in New Orleans and deals with the Voodoo subject.

I love that movie and yet it had slipped my mind. I'll have to watch it again, thanks for the reminder!

I like pretty much anything voodoo based, even if it is not so good.

Angel Heart has always been a favorite, such a well done movie (though it is not great.)

watch/read Serpent and the Rainbow too

thanks for the The Last Wave recommend, Peter Weir usually does good stuff, especially the older movies.
