How does the gog edition of GK2 handle multiple CDs? For me I ripped my copy and had to press some function key multiple times to switch disks. Did you guys manage to load all the resource files at once or something?
I'm very curious to know before I buy a copy. I'd love an install I could use without multiple discs.

Its all handled in the dosbox config file by mounting the cd images from the harddrive, at least for other multi cd games like phantasmagoria this has been the case. You just install and play the game and won't have to worry about switching cds at all, so you shouldn't even notice its a multi cd game with a gog version.

The GOG release just uses disc images? If so, then my GK2 installer might work with it. It concatenates all 6 CDs into one so there would be no swapping of images. You would need to either burn the images or mount them with the likes of Daemon Tools to find out.

No, the Dosbox autoexec only mounts the game directory. It looks like all the content is in the one game directory. No need for any disk swap magic.

Yes, it even shows the GabrielKnight 2k project logo on boot. it's the full HD install. It even has a subfolder with the interlace patch. Only problem is it doesn't have subs.

Unfortunately, compatibility of the subtitle patch with the Hendroz installer was broken during one of the updates made during its development. GOG really should have used my installer to prepare the game for release. It was already setup for the DOS version and is more current.
