I'd like to bind something to I but another action is already bound to that key so the game won't let me. And I can't figure out how to unbind that.

EDIT: I guess you just have to play the stupid game of finding some random unused key to "unbind" to.

I decided to play Firewatch. Just so I am clear on this.......... If a key is already "bound" by the designer, I cannot unbind that key and bind the key I am more familiar in using for that control?? Please tell me this isn't true..... TY
No you can freely bind however you want, it's just a bit... let's say complicated.

Most games - in fact, I fail to think of one where this isn't true - allow you to unbind a key. Specifically set something to "not bound at all". This allows you to free, say, R up to then use it for another action.

In Firewatch, nothing can ever be unbound, but no key can ever be used twice, either. In other words I had to bind a lot of things to keys such as ' or ] or so temporarily, just to move things around. Becomes a bit like a towers of hanoi solution tbh.

Still, it works fine and it only has to be done once.
