Seems to be a problem with the text rendering maybe? The game runs at 80-120fps most of the time, and I can look at the object in my peripheral just fine, but as soon as I put my cursor on it the game chugs to an unbearable speed.

System specs:
i5-3570k @ 4.5ghz
16GB DDR3-1866
GTX 1070 8GB, 391.01 driver released 02/26/2018
2560x1440 @ 165hz G-SYNC monitor
120GB Samsung SSD

There are reports of this issue on the Steam community forums. They say it started with the most recent patch, and they have a short-term solution of switching to a beta branch, but I'm not sure what to do for the GOG version.

I have the same issue. Drops starts few minutes after loading game, first they drop to 46 later even to 16 whenever I look at interactable object.

Ok I found way to rollback to 1.06. Click MORE button next to PLAY, go to Settings -> uncheck "Automatically download updates" -> choose previous version and wait for download to kick in.
Awesome! I'll give it a try. Thanks, Wadziu!
Worked for me! Thanks again.
