Fear 2, Windows 7 64bit, game gets stuck in an infinite black screen as soon as it opens. Doesn't "crash" but the process in Task Manager isn't moving at all.

Dunno what to do. Couldn't find an .ini to edit incase it doesn't like my resolution or something(ol' 1080p @60hz so nothing exotic.) I tried Compatibility Modes with everything from XP to now but hey who's surprised that didn't solve anything.

Any ideas to make it even run?

Seems to be all over steam forums with multiple fixes per pc/user. Recommend checking out all those threads.

[i]Fix for black screen when launching the game
So i was messing around with the game to get it to work. Run it as adminstrator and in compability mode etc but just got black screen so i tried another thing!
Try this if you have this issue aswell:

1. Rightclick on Fear2.exe and select propities.
2. Click the tab compability and uncheck Disable display scaling on high DPI settings[/i]

This fix worked for me. Rightclick on the FEAR2.exe and in the Compatibility Tab tick "Disable full-screen optimisations" Run the game and switch off Widescreen and the game runs Ok and runs in Widescreen i.e I am running 3440X1440 Ok.
