I'm considering getting this game, but I want to be sure that I can use my Xbox One controller with it. I'm running Windows 10 and have the Xbox One controller with bluetooth and wireless audio support. 2nd gen, I think.

No. Fear 1 and Fear 2 don't work properly with Xbox controllers.

I'm using an Xbox 360 controller and Fear 1 only recognizes some inputs (the sticks and the face buttons). I have to use one of those programs that converts keyboard and mouse input to the controller to use the triggers, etc.

It also doesn't recognize any controller input in the menus.

I can't remember, but I don't think Fear 2 had any controller support at all.

You'll need some sort of keyboard / mouse to joystick converter program to use a controller with those games.
