I'm interested on getting it but just how hard is FarCry?

If you play it in a run and gun style then far cry get's difficult. If you play it in a stealth approach style then it will be way better to play. If you want a real challenge turn on "realistic modus". Are your headshots good enough ?

Not really D: But yeah, I'll play it with a stealthy approach, lets face it, Crytek LOVES stealth.

I think it's hard but I'm not a FPS junkie. You really have to plan your approach with each enemy outpost. You got binoculars, use em. :)

This is a great game btw, one of my best buys from GoG.

Make sure you get the FCAM mod to fix the numerous irritating AI bugs left over from the 1.4 Crytek patch.

It's not a very hard game unless you don't use sneaking tactics and crouch everywhere. You die quickly, but so do the enemies, and you can easily distract them if you need to. Once you get the silenced MP5 it's all over >:D

I've played it in the penultimate difficulty mode, and most of the game is quite easy, with minimal duck-and-cover elements.

However, this changes completely when you face the huge-rocket-launcher-wielding-mutants. I'm nearly at the end of the game, but having half a dozen of them before me and a closed door behind me is excruciatingly hard. Insanely hard. And in -no- way is stealth a factor here. Actually, I've given up playing after the 30th attempt or so.

Although it's easier if you sneak around, the last level, which is the hardest, doesn't allow that.

I don't think its as hard on medium, though I cannot say for the harder difficulties. However, stealth is preferred whenever neccessary, since you get torn to pieces, ALWAYS.

Turn on realistic modus for the real far cry experience ^^.

I probably got through 1/3 of the game before using cheats, but I beat the demo (although it was somewhat difficult) numerous times. Even on "easy" the game is really tough, imo.
