I'm rather new here so pardon if I don't get something I'm doing wrong. I've bought several games from GoG and enjoyed them immensely, but this one seems to just be giving me trouble. Every time I try to start playing I get the error "The program can't start because d3dx9_30.dll is missing from your computer."
I have reinstalled the game 3 different times, tried doing 'run as administrator' just in case etc. Have windows 7 for what its worth. anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it? Much appreciated for any help!

I think you need to install directx 9.0c, if you've only played real new games or real old ones you probably missed installing it.

No problem, enjoy the game!
That did it for me too, Ralackk! Thanks!
I am having the same problem with the d3dx9_30.dll file missing when I try to launch Fantasy Wars. I tried clicking on the link provided, and it redirects me back to the forum page that I was trying to link out of. I went to the website that is in the link, well there are so many files that pop up when you type in directx 9.0c that I am at a loss at the moment. I downloaded an update from 2004 and that did not work. I am currently downloading an update from 2005. I hope that it works. ARGH!!
I am getting the same error message as mentioned above. I tried to update Direct X and received an error code telling me my computer was unable to perform that function and to check my direct X error log. I thought the point of this website was to make it so I didn't have to spend hours trying to trouble shoot problems like this.

Updated original post so link works now. Post is 3+ years old and I'm fairly sure gog changed how links worked between now and then on this site.
