Everybody agrees that Charisma is the worst of the SPECIAL stats. The only time it is considered useful is in Fallout 2 where it allows you to have more NPCs and thus have a bigger party.
But I've read online that there are other uses for Charisma:
In Fallout 1 and 2
-People have a positive reaction towards you when you first speak to them and shopkeepers charge less as a result.
-High Charisma can prevent death from more severe radiation poisoning, especially if you get the enhanced implants.
In Fallout 1
-With 9 Charisma, if you tell Ian you feel sorry for his injury, he will join you for free when you ask him for help.
-It's easier to capture the water thief.
-Male characters can hit on Kerri without being a Berserker.
-Female characters get a unique conversation with Harry and Ton.
In Fallout 2
-You can have up to five companions.
-Male characters can date Phyllis
-Female characters can have sex with Metzger for a reduced price to buy Vic.
-Female characters can have sex with a guy at the Hole for money.
-In the Restoration Project, female characters get a unique dialogue conversation with Krom.
-You can talk the guard at the bank in Broken Hills into giving you the key if you also have 7 Intelligence.
-You can become a Porn Star without being famous in New Reno as long as you have 8 Agility and Endurance.
-You can get the car back for free by sleeping with T-Ray.
-You can sleep with Mrs. Bishop.
-You can become Captain of the Guard in Vault City
-In the Restoration Project, you can get the merchant to put the village on his route easily.
In Fallout 3
-Child of Heart becomes available.
-Speech checks are easier to pass.
In New Vegas
-You can have more powerful companions.
-You can hit on Corporal Betsy if female.
Yet so many people think that it is best to have 1 Charisma at the start, 2 if Gifted, and much higher if playing Fallout 2. So why does everything think Charisma is useless?
