I bought the fallout new vegas ultimate edition on gog but i have played fallout nv on steam and i have a 40+ hour charecter on steam and my question is that can i transfer my saves from the steam version to the gog version of the game so i dont have to restart my game from scratch?

The saves should work. You only need to put them in the right folder.
