is there any fun character you can do that focuses on:
Throwing
Unarmed
Outdoorsman

using rocks, knives to cripple foes limbs, and finishing with unarmed attacks? how far would i go with this sort of character? you think it would be possible to complete game?

and what would be the best traits, i don't know what to do with SPECIAL also.

i hope someone helps.

It is possible to create a powerful melee character in the game, but the majority of fun to be had imo are with
Ranged weapons that significantly outnumber the melee weapons and throwing weapons. I would suggest that
first the game normally with ranged weapons and only consider melee for a second playthrough. That way you will
also get to see what melee weapons there are on offer, such as the chainsword :D .

I typically take the quickshot trait and the other trait that increases each of your special stats by one. I like to play high intelligence and high agility so that I have enough points to spend on skills, and enough action points. Never increase a special stat to 10 when creating your character - each stat can permanently be raised by one during the game, atleast as far as i can remember in fallout 2. In fact you can increase your luck by 2 in fallout 2 at some church. If you want to be deadly with a gun late game, try to have 6 luck at character creation and go for the sniper perk - then you will hit with criticals 60% of the time.

If you really want to play melee you will have to play a high strength + endurance character, otherwise strength isnt that useful. I typically set strength to 5 at character creation and bump it to 6 during the game. That is, if memory serves the min strenth required to wield heavy weapons (minigun, rocket launcher and flamethrower). But again, rather play melee on a second playthrough.

Hope that is at least mildly useful :)
Completely doable and yes you can beat the game this way, I know because I have done it, but there are a few caveats. First there is a severe lack of throwing weapons so they cannot be your primary method of combat. Also, late in the game you get access to the Sniper and Slayer perks. These greatly increase the chances of scoring critical hits in combat. However there is no special perk to enhance throwing.

How you build your character can vary greatly depending on your playstyle and which Fallout (1 or 2) you are playing. But here are a few generic tips for what you are trying to do:

-Decide on either Melee or Unarmed for your primary combat skill and pump it up past 100% ASAP.

-Keep a stack of throwing weapons in one of your active slots and save the other for your primary means of combat.

-If you decide to do Melee/Throwing you can use throwing knives as regular melee weapons, but they will be underpowered compared the other weapons you will have access to.

-If you are not planning to carry around lots of really heavy guns and ammo then the Small Frame trait has very little downside.

-Since you are concentrating on just 2 combat skills, do not overlook the value of the Good Natured trait.

-The most powerful thrown weapons are Grenades, but hitting someone in the eye with a lit flare has it's benefits also.
I'd try the following stats:

S:6
P:6-7
E:6 or 8
C:2
I:9
A:9
L:6-9 (needed for "better criticals")

Traits: Gifted, Good Natured
