Installing games on my laptop for my trip. Fallout works fine, but Fallout 2 has the old color glitch where large portions of the screen are rainbow colored.

Before this was easily fixed with the resolution patch or changing compatibility modes but neither of those are working this time. Alt-tab does not work either and neither does changing color modes using the resolution patch. Actually using 16 or 32bit color causes the game to not load videos. and the menu to never appear, it just hangs on the "please wait" screen.

If anyone has any ideas please post them. I am running Win7 64bit on a standard laptop.

I had the same problem. I forget who posted this solution, but it was in this forum somewhere. Run the game using this.

Okay I will try that. I never needed it before though, so that kind of stinks.

Very odd. Though I did have a game run fine then one day start doing the color thing. Can't remember which one but it was the same fix.

Hope it works for you, the color glitch makes the game unplayable, at least for me.
